One Hundred-Second Collection
The bride actually came up with the idea for this photo! She created a mood board with wedding pictures she loved on pinterest, and in the mood-board was a running photo. She loved the atmosphere of it, and asked if we could use this idea, well of course we can! But then I wanted to create my version of it of course, and not copy the entire thing.
This hillside was the perfect spot for it! The light just came over the hill, and creates this soft light surrounding them. It really enhances the idea of their freedom, running towards the bright future ahead together.
Mel & Darren at Ruthin Castle Hotel & Spa. I saw this window light in the bar area and asked Mel & Darren if they'd like to grab a quick image, before going through for their wedding breakfast.
Drasti & Karan had a magical wedding set against the backwaters in Kerala, India.
Their chemistry is unparalleled, they cannot hold still for more than about 3 milliseconds, and so giving them any kid of poses was an impossible task. The sun had already set, and there is this brief 60 second window in between sunset and blue hour, around the coastal regions of South India, when the sky transitions from orange to a pinkish-purple hue, before turning to blue. It doesn't happen everyday, it is rare, but when it does, it looks magnificent!
We had our frame ready, as soon as the sky turned the right hue, we asked them to step into frame and to just be themselves. This was just before their sangeet performance night, and so practicing their dance moves was all they could think of! This image here, is a BTS image of them practicing their first dance, moments before they get on stage, against a backdrop that probably only occurs one in a hundred times.
Lauren & Dean had seen other shots weโd taken with the bridal party and groomsmen, and presumed they couldnโt have the same shot as theyโd picked children, but we soon proved them wrong ๐
Making this image happen, required a 45 minute hike in the wee hours of the morning in freezing cold weather. Unaware of this, Kashish arrived in her gown and 5 inch heels! But that couldn't phase her from making this image happen and she merrily began making her way to the top to catch the golden hour.
From bribing a man on the way at a teahouse to lend us his footwear for the bride to climbing with the couple on the rocky edges almost risking it all - are just a few of the things that went into making this image.
Once at the top the view was so magical and panoramic, we knew immediately, we had to get a shot on the drone to get the 180 degree view, and the couple looking so tiny in the image really lends perspective to the scale of the entire image.
When Lucy & Chris said they were bringing their dog Reggie to the wedding, we had a feeling that heโd become the centre of attention in the couples photos.
Perfect light, a great couple and an alert pooch, equals a memory theyโll treasure ๐
