It took this shot at Moxhull Hall in Birmingham, UK. The day was overcast and rained for most of it. When arriving at the venue, I could see they had a gathering of umbrellas near their back door, and I just had to use them! We took this shot as there was a moment when it was dry outside, so after doing the group shot, some guests stayed behind and we passed them the umbrellas. I explained the shot to the group and set up went smoothly! To help the bride and groom stand out I gave them one of my reflector umbrellas and asked them to tilt it back to reveal them kissing.
My camera used was a Canon 5D, 16-35mm lens at f5, 1/100, iso100, OCF with mag mod grid pointed down on the couple from about 8 feet away to the side.
This is the best thing with working with amazing couples like this! Often you can feel what kinds of shoots the bride and groom are open to. They were joking around all day and were very receptive to this idea. I am really happy that they absolutely love the final result.
When the groomsmen come into the reception full steam ready to hit the dance floor! Either that or they love kickboxing, The Ninja Turtles, or a combination of the two with a little Bruce Lee mixed in.
The fabulous Emerald laughing uncontrollably at her (now) husbands wedding speech, alongside guest at Cowdray Ruins in Sussex. This was inside the stunning ruins at Cowdray Heritage and a beautiful wedding.
This shot was taken at Warwick House, in Coventry, UK. It was the middle of the day and the sun was high in the sky creating really strong shadows. The venue had some beautiful white walls on the front and I wanted to see if we could get this shot using shadows only. After shuffling around the bridesmaids a little, the bride threw back her flowers and we nailed the shot!! It was a lot of fun to take and I am so pleased with how well it came out!! My camera was a Canon 5D, Lens 16.35mm set at 2.8, 1/800, 100.
We had a wonderful bridal couple shooting in the sundown of cologne. The lines of the field, the orange of the sun...everything was at his right position.
I love a great confetti shot and this is just that! The smiles, laughter, and face full of confetti! Taken at Mitton Hall in Lancashire on such a brilliant wedding day for Tom and Becks.
In the darkest of times, you are the one who lights up my life, you are my guiding soul, and I see us as one.
This was shot at the beautiful Jaisalmer. The city that blends history with modernity and traditions with dignity.
This wedding location had a crazy lighting structure on the second floor. I felt it was best to make use of their silhouettes and light up the background to have it complement the red strips of light.
One of the many wedding traditions.
Matt and Pernilla married at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire. Their Autumnal wedding was relaxed and fun.
If I had to take a picture
to show how true love can really be,
I would use the brightest colors, the shinest lights to create a vision of harmony, tenderness, and warmth.
A magical moment of love forever true. Colorful lights to see them through...
I slipped and fell and then said this angle looks a lot better than standing up. My clients loved it as well so they decided to have a kiss first and then proceeded to help me up! Whatever it takes to get the shot and find the composition.
Thank you Wedisson for this award. This was captured using the natural window light at a wedding in the UK in February - where light during winter months can be limited.
When I talked to this charming couple on their first visit in my studio, the bride-to-be mentioned,
that she`d really be so happy if she would have sunny, warm weather on her wedding day.
But in the end, the day was cloudy, rainy, grey and I felt so sad for this bride.
That`s why I decided spontaneously to bring some color with me when I would arrive at their house.
I popped into a shop and bought some balloons on the way. Andrea was so surprised and happy about this gesture.
We had more than one hour before we needed to leave for their wedding party. Enough time to do this couple shot next to their house at this beautiful lake in Switzerland.
The picture was taken in a city of Kołobrzeg. I used the flash lamp and directed it to the stream of water from the fountain to give the photo a different look. I experimented a bit with the aperture to get an interesting effect.
This image was taken at the Solihull Regency Hotel, Solihull UK. To get the shot I stood on the bed as the bridesmaids help the bride to put her dress on. I wanted to get a shot that showed the fun side to fit into a wedding dress, as the bride wanted to make sure she fitted into hers perfectly!! I angled the camera down from above to create the leaning back effect and set the lens to its widest (16mm) My camera gear was a Canon 5D, 16-35mm 2.8 lens ad f28, 1-100, on camera flash with a magmod bounce diffuser.
This couple wanted their photos taken, close to home on a little estate. With bridges, reflections, and forest trees. Simply great!
I captured this portrait of Gary & Nicole right at the end of their wedding in Norfolk. The day had been manic, and their opportunity to get away for a quick bit of alone time meant I could suggest grabbing one last shot before I left myself, and this is what we created!
I took this picture during the bridal couple shooting with my drone. These two lovers were so beautiful and I love the contrast and the structures of the green field.
The one part of my job that really makes me glow is that my couples put complete faith in me on their wedding day. If it is raining, blowing a gale, or simply freeeeeezing cold (which it often is here in the UK) my couples simply get on with it and will happily venture outside if I think there is an opportunity to capture something special. My gorgeous bride and groom were happy to venture out after dark in the snow for this shot (it was minus 3c). When setting up this shot the tall pink trees to the right of the couple were unlit so using flash and magenta gel I was able to match the color and light to the trees behind them that were lit by venue lighting. I'm so pleased with how it came out and that using a slow shutter allowed me to get the beautiful stars that night too.
