On a wild black sand beach, where the earth feels untamed and the sky stretches endlessly, they found their calm in each other.
This isn’t just a moment — it’s a feeling that lingers.

One of my favourite things on a wedding day is catching a lovely sky, although you often have to work quickly, it's so worth it if you can catch it.

Usually my weddingphotos are all about interaction and emotion, but every now and then, a beautifully posed moment deserves its place too. Sometimes, simplicity, light, and shadow is all you need.

This image was taken during the dinner at Wijndomein Slot Doddendael, where things took an unexpected, but unforgettable, turn.
The wine Elien and Kristof had carefully selected for their wedding ended up running out after guests enthusiastically turned it into part of a playful game during dinner. What followed was a spontaneous and lively toast with whatever was left, filled with laughter, energy, and genuine connection.
It’s exactly this unplanned, real moment that makes the image so powerful, a true reflection of the joy and spirit of their day.

I wanted to create something a bit more abstract, using the unique architecture of this church. This staircase turned out to be the perfect setting. With off-camera flash, I was able to place the light exactly where I wanted it.

Life is a highway! But when you ride it together, no curve is too sharp and no road too narrow.

Their favorite local bar, an authentic old café full of charm and character, has been the backdrop of many moments in their lives, often spent with friends or simply enjoying time together at the bar.
With its vintage jukebox and timeless interior, the atmosphere feels warm, intimate, and full of stories.
Choosing this location wasn’t just about aesthetics, but about meaning. It’s a place that holds memories, laughter, and connection, making it the perfect setting to tell a part of their story in an honest and personal way.

With you, I’m learning what it means to truly give myself to someone, not out of need, but out of a genuine desire to make you feel valued, loved, and enough—because you are. I feel lucky to be the one who gets to remind you of that every day. Thank you for being my everything.

As the sun lowered in the sky I noticed one open area in the vegetation where I asked my couple to stand in profile as I wanted to Silhouette them in the back lit sunshine. I closed down the aperature to get a sunstar effect from the sun, I also ensured that I didn't underexposure the scene too much as I wanted the red wild flowers in the final image not to be totally silhouetted.
