When we went to the ceremony, there was a fog and we decided to use it , so we quickly run to it , I put flash and made that's a beautiful picture.
This image was taken in Hoyo Azul, Cap Cana, Higuey, East of the Dominican Republic. Catherine and Joaquin were married in November of 2015 but they wanted us to do “the trash the dress” and an adventurous photo shoot. We met the same day of the photo shoot. However, Catherine and I had spoken a lot over social media. The day of the photo shoot it was very cloudy and it rained. Cap Cana is a spectacular place and even though it was raining, we caught some amazing images. Joaquin was not very convinced about jumping in the water but as soon as he saw me jumping in with no problem, they both entered the water and had fun taking the images for this beautiful “trash the dress”.
Genevieve was getting ready at her parent's house in Cantal, and her sister just had put her veil on her. She was walking back to the room's door and I saw the light in the veil. I really like this calm moment, a few minutes before her family discovered her in her wedding dress and she was walked down the aisle by her father.
Already our first encounter was funny and inspiring – we had so much to laugh from the very beginning. On the wedding day, despite the stormy weather, the atmosphere was again quite laid-back. The picture was captured in an old oil mill, where in the past walnuts were processed. The light conditions were not very favourable, but with some adaptations I was able to put the bridal couple in perspective. With the help of natural light and flash light the composition just came out magical.
I knew from the minute this couple booked me that we were going to get some amazing pictures with them. They left everything up to me and trusted me with any ideas I had in mind! We went out to Vantage, WA where we did the first set pictures. We were a little worried we would get a down pour of rain, but instead we got pretty lucky with some beautiful overcast skies and a little wind that just happened to be the perfect touch to make the brides veil flow. It started raining just as we were getting ready to leave and I was so pleased with the shots we got. These two were the perfect couple to work with!
The newly wed couple Juanra & Elisabeth offered me the possibility of living with them a very happy day in the restaurant La Boscana in Bellvís (Catalonia).
During one of their many sweet moments, I took the advantage from inside the house achieving a fantastic backlighting and cool reflection on the floor, for a final brilliant result that they will remember forever. My gratefulness to Wedisson Awards for their great style when it comes to photo selecting.
This image was taken early april of 2016. In the Netherlands it is always a guess if it will rain this day.
But it was the first sunny day of the year. I know the bride quitte some time and she had confidence to let me pick the locations for the shoot. The location is a park in Utrecht with with different scenery, perfect for a wedding shoot.
I placed the couple on top of the bridge. The sun was shining and the sky was filled with lovely clouds.
This photo was taken at "La Fuente de los Angeles" , a spectacular property located 10 kilometers from Valladolid and exclusive by its environment .It has a former monastery dating back to 1315. The chapel of the monastery was the perfect place chosen for this photo playing with lighting and the couple.
This young couple wants to marry in the Netherlands but preferred to have a pre-wedding shoot in London, the city where they currently both live and work. After the shoot in the streets of London we went to the rooftop of a shopping mall with a beautiful city view. Despite the emptiness of the picture you can feel the presence of the big city below. The wind gives the picture a touch of dynamism and the St Peter’s Cathedral puts it in the right context.
We waited until the sun was down to make a photo at this beautifull bridge at ‘Het Oude Slot’ te Heemstede.
While we where shooting this photo i remembered the saxophonist of the band and asked him to join the picture to complete the magic.
It turned out to be the most romantic photo of the day.
This photo was taken with a wonderfull couple in Marseille, beautiful cliffs that were present in the sea with a view of the cottages on the coast, the sun slowly went down…it was a special moment.
Funny thing about this photo,I have to give credit to one of the groomsmen for helping me with the set up.My flash bracket snapped when I was setting up for the shot, so I had my willing helper hide in the background and point the flash up at Ingrid and Eric. The angle of the flash was abnormal, but perfect for the scene.Catching a peek of the sunset over the harbor and Charleston's Historic Rice Mill as the backdrop, this couples nighttime silhouette shot is one of my favorites.
I could not get the window open and was concerned I would not be able to capture this beautiful moment. I did everything I could to get a clear shot through the glass and it was successful! I was so happy.
This image was taken from the wedding of Kirsty & Dan at the Iconic Ryder Cup Golf Course of Celtic Manor Newport Wales. The perfect location to another prefect wedding.
It was one of those days…fluctuating between bright blue skies, followed by torrential downpours. We’d been on weather watch all day, second guessing whether the rain would hold off long enough for Alice and Ed to enjoy their drinks reception in the grounds of her parent’s fantastic home in East Sussex. For the most part it did, and then the heavens opened with a vengeance sending everyone scurrying across the field towards the marquee. Once everyone was finally inside, sure enough the rain stopped, the sun popped out and so did the most amazingly vivid double rainbow. The couple had just sat down for their meal but they dropped everything to come and marvel at Mother Nature’s most generous wedding gift to them. Less than two minutes later it completely vanished and I gave my own quiet thanks to the photography Gods.
It was a very pleasant day. We had a boat trip on the lake. Everything was perfect: the weather, the guys, the mood. But I wanted to make this moment a little bit better, and added smoke.
Alexei and Albina made for each other. This is a very harmonious and strong couple. I am infinitely happy to take pictures of people in love! Perhaps they can endlessly look at each other. Scenic sunset on the shore of the Azov Sea in the best way suited to these newlyweds. And now the fire of their hearts fills the warm light of this photo.
This beautiful couple's wedding took place in the Austrian province of Burgenland. On our way to the designated shooting location we came across this wheat field bathed in golden sunlight. We just had to stop and take a few pictures. A big thank you to Martina and Martin for being so spontanous and helping us capture this exquisite moment!
David and Lorraine's wedding venue was in a farmers field across the road from their house in Gopsall Hall Farm. It's normally a tipi glamping site for 6 high-quality tipi's, they also have a music festival every year (110 Above), however, for this weekend the owner allowed David and Lorraine to host their own tipi wedding. It was probably the hottest day of the year with no clouds in sight. However towards the end of the day, as the night was darkening, the clouds came down and the sky started to burst with colour. I knew it was known or never to capture some dramatic images of the sky. I also wanted to incorporate the tipi's as it is a campsite at the end of the day. This was the final result!!
The photo is from the wedding shoot of Amanda and Tushar. Another great couple, I had the opportunity to work with. This was taken outside the Abu Dhabi Palace. We hardly had anytime to prepare because of the rush it had to be done in for security reasons. This was captured in a window period of 3 mins.
The backdrop of this photo is in Shek O, Hong Kong. Having them situated in opening space of ocean and sky, I wish to deliver the idea that they have each other to hold on to in this whole wide world. If you notice they were standing in exact middle position of the photo, you have catch on my idea of telling them that as long as they have each other’s back, they can create a bright future.
Our couple, Yaira + Sean had their wedding in early January on a super hot day, The heat was intense and there was no breeze to lessen the temperature effect. This did not stop our couple from enjoying every single minute of their wedding day though. The groom’s father brought 3 brand new Harley Davidson motorbikes especially for the wedding day, they were driven as an escort ahead of the wedding cars. So, we had to come up with a great photo idea to incorporate them in.
The entire wedding party was in love with the idea of doing a shot under this old bridge in Fremantle, WA. They got some much needed shade from the sun’s intense heat; and the low light + concrete walls and columns were a great background to create this shot.
We used 4 off camera flashes to illuminate the couple and the bikes so that we could darken everything else right down.
This image is now a double page spread in their wedding album.
Their passion for the beauty of nature brought us here. Me and them in this dry land. It was a very hot afternoon, while they started to walk, hand by hand into the field, I kept my distance so that they could enjoy their first moments as husband and wife. This allowed me to capture them and their souls in the wild.
