I met Manyi & Alvin through mutual friends and from first time we met I knew these guys would be great fun. I like to show off the wedding party as much as possible and even though I give direction for the shots I like each person to give a little bit of their personality to the shot. I think what makes this image is the groomsman being dragged behind the bride on the ground and the expressions of everyone.
The bride and groom had said they were tired of the traditional bridal party wedding photo and that they had wanted something epic. The sun was setting at just the right time and the tree that had been placed on that little hill could t have been more perfect. We put them in place and Wham, Epic Photo lol
The picture was taken on the registry wedding day. I took them outside and take some pictures of them alone, and asked them to rehears the valls for the wedding party, and they did, in the shore of Rio de la Plata, in Montevideo.
This couple wed in Seattle, WA and really wanted some romantic photos at night after the wedding day was over. We headed over to the Tacoma Glass Museum, and as soon as I saw these gorgeous glass statues sitting in water, I got down on the ground to get a stunning reflections of all the glass structures, as well as a reflection of the couple as they shared a kiss.
Sarah & Greg came to us looking for something different and wanted a fantasy storybook type of engagement photos. We spent almost a full day with them and struck gold nearing the end of our shoot on Burnaby lake. We couldn't have wished for a better sunset and the classic example of being at the right place at the right time. They were meant to be!
It was a bitter winter’s day when David and Jacqui tied the knot in Queenstown, New Zealand.
They flew over with their entire families from Sydney, Australia to have their wedding in the mountains, and wanted their couple shoot up on the snow.
We choppered up onto a nearby mountain top, and there was a freezing wind blowing.
I found the best spot looking back over the mountains in the low afternoon light, and posed them with Jacqui’s back to me as I wanted to show off the beautiful low cut of her Steven Khalil dress and veil flying in the wind.
I also wanted her leaning into David to symbolise the surrender and safety of marriage.
At one point I thought Jacqui was going to get hypothermia! But she was incredibly resilient and endured the deep cold to take a collection of stunning photos, including this one.
One of my favourite moments to photograph on a wedding day is when a father sees his daughter fully dressed and ready to walk down the aisle.
The expressions & emotions take my breath away every time; it can range from complete shock to a burst of total happiness and everything in between. Some dad’s brace themselves by doing a few deep breaths beforehand, while others just get totally blown away and explode with beautiful emotional of love. This dad – the latter.
I was shooting some portraits of the groomsmen when I turned around and noticed the girls having such a good time dancing in the long grass. Way to show up the guys! I just love capturing genuine moments at weddings.
This photograph was taken in a spectacular setting at about 1800 meters high, was in a pre-wedding session conducted entirely in the area of "La Muela" between Extremadura and Castilla and Leon in Spain, an area of high mountains; We had to wait for the sun to come down to make this picture, I knew where she was going to put on and walked away from the couple to enter the picture the silhouette of trees while theirs to generate more information and photography stay fuller and talk a little place where we perform. The sky was spectacular, full of colors and ideally to photograph the sun just before sunset atmosphere.
This couple was getting married on a very hot summer day in the city of Deventer in The Netherlands. During there wedding there were festivals in the City. There were umbrella’s in the streets and a lot of nice colors. They decided to just walk around the Beautiful City and enjoy there summer wedding day.
A night time city view of downtown Los Angeles for a romantic couple who first met on Facebook when it was mainly for college students. This social networking relationship began as friends and turned into companionship and love. Congrats to them as they cannot wait to tie the knot.
The Old Church in central Helsinki is a very popular venue for weddings. Kim and Laura had chosen the church especially because of a beautiful park surrounding the old wooden church
Unfortunately that day there was a big flea market event located all over the Helsinki and it populated also the park mentioned before, where we planned to have the portrait session right after the church ceremony. The bride was pissed of for the fact and she was also afraid that now everything would be ruined for the portrait session. I had to remind her that its not the first time something goes wrong at the wedding day and I would sort it out eventually.
After all we decided to shoot the portraits in another beautifull location and I promised that there would be no outsiders in the newlyweds' wedding pictures. This picture of the ceremony exit is just one of the sunny and happy pictures of their day.
These are the different faces of my country Venezuela have jungle and desert, the place is called Medanos de Coro, the photo was taken while waiting for the sun to rise, this young couple collaborated lot and literally we had to breakfast sand.
I love being within moments.I think of it this way feelings are transmitted.
The party is great! Being with the couple and guests jumping between them, it is the best!
A hot summer day in the heart of the historic center of Florence. The ceremony began. I followed the imperious light beam entered in the Church, pushing it with my eyes; it arrived until that point, where I wanted, how to bless Andrea and Francesca... so I shoot this photo!
It was one of the most memorable wedding. Which was unique not just with its location, but everything what happened on that special day! Bride had 6 wedding dresses, arrived to ceremony with a boat, party guest were from all around the world and dinner with lots of French cheese! This spot I found the night before the ceremony so just needed the girls to fill the picture...
The couple were fond of nature and greenery and so we chose Yercaud, a hill station located in the South of India, for the shoot. Set at the edge of a mountain that gave way to a cliff, a cool breeze hitting our shoulders, the evening sun basking us in its glory and the beautiful tree becoming a silhouette under the suns might. The couple took a few mins off the shoot to relax and that's when I conceived the composition of this frame and even before they could realise that I was photographing them, those moments had become something beautiful to cherish forever.
Silhouettes remind us that there is something larger at play around us and show that less detailing is stunning as well
Each wedding is unique. Each wedding has an individual approach and it has its own history, which should be treated as something completely new. Wedding Day is a kind of a starting point. It's the beginning of a new relationship. I've known Oksana and Alexei for several years. We met occasionally at their friends' wedding I photofraphed. During that time we exchanged mutual trust, which is, in my opinion, the most important thing between a couple and a photographer. The wedding style was so precise and harmonious with their inner world, which made it more simple. Location of the shooting was not chosen by accident. Oksana and Alexei are very athletic guys, and I wanted to emphasize their athletic grace with intricate lines of the interior of one of the most beautiful hotels in Moscow. Rich interior highlights their rich inner world. I asked them to move a little to the rhythm of the dance, to look each other in the eye and talk with their eyes. They began to move looking into each other's eyes. Suddenly, at some point, Alex tilted Oksana and I had only not to miss that emotional moment.
The warm sunset hugged the couple gently in the last bit of their engagement shoot that day! Alvin enjoys spending time with Kori whenever he can. Even the littlest thing, as long as they share the moment together, he feels like he is the luckiest man on Earth. It is this feeling that they know they will need to stay together, forever.
