Funny thing about this photo,I have to give credit to one of the groomsmen for helping me with the set up.My flash bracket snapped when I was setting up for the shot, so I had my willing helper hide in the background and point the flash up at Ingrid and Eric. The angle of the flash was abnormal, but perfect for the scene.Catching a peek of the sunset over the harbor and Charleston's Historic Rice Mill as the backdrop, this couples nighttime silhouette shot is one of my favorites.
I love taking photographs in the rain and Jade and Arwel were more than happy to go outside in the evening for this shot. We started off with them being stood under an umbrella but once I had my settings correct I asked them to throw it away. I think shots like this look much better without an umbrella.
Alexei and Albina made for each other. This is a very harmonious and strong couple. I am infinitely happy to take pictures of people in love! Perhaps they can endlessly look at each other. Scenic sunset on the shore of the Azov Sea in the best way suited to these newlyweds. And now the fire of their hearts fills the warm light of this photo.
I could not get the window open and was concerned I would not be able to capture this beautiful moment. I did everything I could to get a clear shot through the glass and it was successful! I was so happy.
Patti and Bobby got married at the beautiful St. Lukes, in downtown Charleston. This image was captured right after their ceremony in the courtyard of the church. The suns rays were filtering through the leaves of the giant oak trees, framing the couple for this portrait.
Many people think this image was taken at a beach, but its quite far away from it. This was from a Trash the dress session in Oaxaca, MX.
The session started at 6am in the morning in Hierve el Agua, which is at the top of a waterfall. Bride and groom were truly troopers.
This photograph was taken at 4am at a destination wedding in Spain. We had all had quite a lot to drink so I couldn't ask for anything too posed! I used one speedlight to light the couple from behind.
This was just after the ceremony had ended and I was taking family portraits with the bride and her family. Out of nowhere the sky just started dumping snow, and a lot of it. The bride happened to be standing next to her sister as well as her new husband's sister when it started, and right away I motioned for my assistant, who was holding an off camera light, to jump behind them and she understood right away. What I was able to capture was a pretty awesome moment when the first snow started to fall.
At the couple's engagement session, we took shots of them with the stars and the moon. On the wedding day, it was only suiting to take them to the clouds! During their portrait session after the ceremony, we took them to hills on this beautiful day. This image was made in camera using the reflections on the iPhone. When our couple saw the image, they exclaimed "you took us to the clouds!
The forecast of this day were terrible. Storms, rain and other bad weather was expected; but nothing other than the opposite was true this day. As we walked through the beautiful park, the sun at its highest point, i saw this perfect mixture between sunlight and shadows! Thanks to my b1 i could even out the foreground and background.
This was an image I shot earlier this year in Paphos, Cyprus. We had just nipped out, in-between courses, to grab the last of the days light.
This "trash the dress" shooting was done in the city of love,París. We had a long long shooting day from 11am until 11pm traveling through all the most important places of this awesome city and finally having this nigh shoot in the Eiffel Tower. A nikon d800 and a 35mm lens were used in this photo, including a back flash to add a bit more magic to the shoot.
This picture was taken in de Levenstuinen (the gardens of life) in Teuge. The owners bought 15 years ago a large plot of land and made a large beautiful garden, including this little chapel in it. On this particular location I saw the strong love between Alex and Anne and it felt so good to photograph them beautiful featured standing for the chapel.
The backdrop of this photo is in Shek O, Hong Kong. Having them situated in opening space of ocean and sky, I wish to deliver the idea that they have each other to hold on to in this whole wide world. If you notice they were standing in exact middle position of the photo, you have catch on my idea of telling them that as long as they have each other’s back, they can create a bright future.
The photo is from the wedding shoot of Amanda and Tushar. Another great couple, I had the opportunity to work with. This was taken outside the Abu Dhabi Palace. We hardly had anytime to prepare because of the rush it had to be done in for security reasons. This was captured in a window period of 3 mins.
Paul and Catherine are the couple from Odessa. Bride is very gentle and devoted woman. Groom is purposeful and courageous, likes to travel. When a young sailor met the love of his life - he has a new dream - to show his Catherine the most beautiful places of our planet! Immediately after the wedding the couple went on a long journey. Ahead they have a lot of goals and victories, which they will carry out together!
It was one of those days…fluctuating between bright blue skies, followed by torrential downpours. We’d been on weather watch all day, second guessing whether the rain would hold off long enough for Alice and Ed to enjoy their drinks reception in the grounds of her parent’s fantastic home in East Sussex. For the most part it did, and then the heavens opened with a vengeance sending everyone scurrying across the field towards the marquee. Once everyone was finally inside, sure enough the rain stopped, the sun popped out and so did the most amazingly vivid double rainbow. The couple had just sat down for their meal but they dropped everything to come and marvel at Mother Nature’s most generous wedding gift to them. Less than two minutes later it completely vanished and I gave my own quiet thanks to the photography Gods.
I knew from the minute this couple booked me that we were going to get some amazing pictures with them. They left everything up to me and trusted me with any ideas I had in mind! We went out to Vantage, WA where we did the first set pictures. We were a little worried we would get a down pour of rain, but instead we got pretty lucky with some beautiful overcast skies and a little wind that just happened to be the perfect touch to make the brides veil flow. It started raining just as we were getting ready to leave and I was so pleased with the shots we got. These two were the perfect couple to work with!
This image was taken in Hoyo Azul, Cap Cana, Higuey, East of the Dominican Republic. Catherine and Joaquin were married in November of 2015 but they wanted us to do “the trash the dress” and an adventurous photo shoot. We met the same day of the photo shoot. However, Catherine and I had spoken a lot over social media. The day of the photo shoot it was very cloudy and it rained. Cap Cana is a spectacular place and even though it was raining, we caught some amazing images. Joaquin was not very convinced about jumping in the water but as soon as he saw me jumping in with no problem, they both entered the water and had fun taking the images for this beautiful “trash the dress”.
