Karina & Jamie’s wedding scored the ultimate wedding hat-trick - the stunning setting of South Farm in the Cambridgeshire countryside, a truly gorgeous couple inside-out & THAT light. We’d just enjoyed mountains of that food & some pretty emotional speeches & when we sneaked out for a few evening portraits all my photography dreams were made - the sun-baked day had turned into that golden hazy evening glow. Boom! I love this moment between Karina & Jamie - Karina’s eyes say it all really. So much love right here.
This couple was filled with the joy of life. We walked around Waikiki for this shoot after the ceremony on a beautiful sunny day. A lot of people on the street congratulated the couple. They told the bride how lovely she looked, which really created a great mood. As we came up to the surfboard racks the groom immediately made this surf pose and when the bride joined him I snapped this image. I think it perfectly captures how fun it was to shoot in Hawaii and the joy they felt on their special day.
This picture was taken in Lelystad. Normally I start the wedding day at the groom’s place, capturing the moment that he is putting on his costume. This groom was so proud of his wedding car that he was waiting for me up, already dressed. He took me with him for a super ride in this beautiful car. Pictures of his wedding costume were not that important for him, but riding this fast Aston Martin was a childhood dream for him and his photographer!
Nick and Rob moved to London together having met at university in Sheffield, so felt that marrying in the city was really important to them. They also wanted to maximise the time they had celebrating with their friends so chose to do their portraits in the morning before the ceremony. We headed out on the tube to Saint Pauls and walked over Millennium Bridge to embrace some of the iconic skylines... This is one of my favourite shots from the day, you can just make out the cathedral in the background, but there's so much more story in here; I love the film crew filming them and the passers-by stopping to see what's going on.
While everyone was trying to get a picture of the bride and groom, I saw the father of the bride struggling to get the lighting correct on his phone. After helping him with the settings I decided to frame the couple in the phone for an extra perceived depth to the picture.
Greg and Lori are as adventurous as they are funny, and with a love for back country skiing a snowy mountain side was the perfect setting for a wedding. The laughter and excitement were apparent in every image, culling down the number of shots were an enormous task. Eventually, I went with the one that represented their personality best. Huge smiles, warm hearts, and a bluebird day.
Brandon and Emma got married in a rock quarry in North Carolina which has been one of our favorite venues to date! This couple is very sweet and laid back, there was no location in the world that suited them better. Since their wedding was a morning wedding, by the time we were able to have a few minutes to shoot creatively with the bride and groom, the sun was almost directly overhead, rendering the lighting very difficult. In order to capture the awe inspiring location, we positioned a couple of the edge of the water and shot from behind to capture the scene in its entirety. We had Emma bring her chin up to illuminate her face in the most flattering way and encouraged Brandon to whisper sweet words in her ear to inspire her beautiful expression.
When Hannah and Chris booked me to shoot their wedding in Petworth, West Sussex, I was so thrilled as this was the town where I used to live, many years ago. Grittenham Barn had been bathed in sunshine the whole day, which was a small miracle considering rain had been forecast to put a dampener on things. At about 8pm the light outside was looking just perfect, so I took the happy couple out into the field for a few glorious golden hour shots.
This photo was taken in Aix-en-Provence, a magnificent city of the South of France. The « Cours Mirabeau » is a famous avenue in Provence. The inhabitants of Aix like surrendering to it to drink a coffee on the terraces or to contemplate the multiple fountains. Lolita, Thomas and myself we are made an appointment on a Sunday morning while the « Cours Mirabeau » was still deserted, as sleepy... Of this meeting between a city steeped in history, a couple and a photographer were born this photography filled with emotion, the prelude to their marriage.
David and Rebecca are keen sailors, and for a number of years had been fellow competitors. They married at the historic Beaulieu Abbey, before leaving by boat and sailing to their wedding reception - a marquee erected opposite the sailing club that is so close to their hearts. This image was captured as they reached the end of the landing jetty, meeting their awaiting guests. Plenty of energy and vibrancy in their reactions - on top of the world and ready to party. Light was spectacular that day. It was still early in the season for an outdoor wedding, but they were blessed, being able to enjoy the scenic location.
I have to describe this couple as romantic and fun, the passion between them is as hot as the place where we make pictures for their wedding. The place is called "THE DUNAS" is located in Bani, Dominican Republic, is a small desert located in the southern part of the island. They expressed to me their ideas for their wedding photos and the recommendation was unanimous the place was ideal for them. I please be a part of that time and leave it marked for history.
Mark and Sarah tied the knot after only 12 short years together (Mark’s a fast mover by his own admission). The couple married at the beautiful Prested Hall in Essex in late March. I didn’t hold out much hope for a sunset but we were treated to some lovely golden light in short spring evening and I managed to steal the couple away for a quiet five minutes together in the grounds of the hall.
The bride is a good friend of mine and I am very excited to be able to take their engagement photos. I scouted the location a week before the shoot and I could just visualise how beautiful the image would be if I place the couple in the wood at the time the morning sun shimmer through the dense wood. It plays out exactly the way I want. We both love the image so much.
Rosanna and Dario were married in May, the day was spent by, when together with the staff of the restaurant La Palma we decided where to place the cake for the cut I chose to put us against the light, because seeing the color of the cake and the sunlight had already imagined how it would come to the picture, the result was incredible and I was filled with joy!
Ines and Sebastian came all the way from Spain to get married in their dream destination, Santorini. Their love and the view of the volcano had been a great combination for wedding pictures. It was a pleasure being their photographer and capture their most unique moments in my island!
The Couple I had an honour of photographing on their wedding day met at a tango class, and just as in tango, their feelings quickly started to evolve into passionate and tender love. The day of the photo shoot was the only sunny day between many wet ones. I had a lot of fun capturing the tango poses on Vancouver's most beautiful beach, as well as candid moments from the event. The traditional Chinese red wedding dress was absolutely spectacular and I could not stop admiring how gorgeous the Bride looked. I am sure the Groom thought so too, as I have zero photos of him not gazing at his Wife.'
The photo was taken in the florin neighborhood in tel Aviv, and it's in the south part. I love this photo because of the beautiful color and depth of view. You can feel the neighborhood - it's also the area where the couple lives. :)
This day didn't go as planned. We were supposed to shoot at a beautiful park, but on the way to the park it started to rain. So the bride and the groom decided on a restaurant. So there we were, on our way to a new experience. Luckily the bride and the groom were such a spontanius couple, the shooting went without trouble. We got some wonderfull ideas, under which this photo. A big thanks to the amazing couple for being so open en adjustable to the situation.
This photo was taken at the Lincoln center in Ft Collins, Colorado. We had and extremely hot day with temperatures reaching 100 degrees. Our bride and groom were amazing and never complained. The back side of the building was covered with some kind of vegetation and was also in the shade except for a splash of sun. It made a perfect backdrop for this dramatic photo.
Carmine and Tito are Italian same-sex couple who came to New York City to have their destination wedding. This shot was taken while we were shooting under the Brooklyn Bridge. The couple and their friends were so energetic and passionate, we wanted to have some fun moments added to the wedding shoot, so they did this posed jumping, what a great moment!
This is a photo of our amazing couple Shallece & Dubach, taken at Thanksgiving Point in Utah. They had a very non traditional wedding, and I think it would be fair to assume that they will have a very non traditional life together. This shot is from their "First Look" session being that their wedding was still a few weeks away. The look on Dubach's face when he saw his bride to be for the first time in her dress was nothing short of breathtaking. The love and emotion that these two share is priceless, and this shot was taken right after seeing her for the first time. I think the serene and and melancholy background provided an amazing backdrop to display the love that these two have for one another!
Josianne & Ismael married under the magic sky, away from a big city in an old farmhouse La Baronia. Josianne & Ismael are professional dancers and they had been able to turn the sky with their magical love.
This couple was a special one. Everything was prepared for their wedding. They are a very young couple and spent much of the dating time on the beach. The wedding was scheduled for early 2016 when they became pregnant, requiring advance the date in 7 months so they could get married before the baby is born and belly grow too much. They were married at her parent's home in Teresopolis, but decided to make the trash the dress at the beach Grande, Arraial does Cabo, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. It was a very beautiful and happy day, with everybody very happy by the union of the couple and the baby who was to come.
This photo was taken during a pre-shoot at a destination wedding in Virgin Gorda. I spotted the location on Google Earth before arriving and I knew immediately I wanted to use it. It's an abandoned copper mine. My initial thought was to back light the couple but I didn't like it as much as this one, they just didn't stand out enough. I quickly asked my assistant to hide behind the foliage on the left with a gridded Profoto B2. I added one more light to my front left to help bring out the foliage even more. I think it helps to enhance the leading line to the couple framed in the doorway.
Ben and Vicky love to travel the world together but for their wedding day came back to their UK home. They had a beautiful relaxed family celebration surrounded by the rolling countryside of the Welsh borders. This old railway bridge was the perfect place to make the most of the sunlight as it filtered through the trees. I loved this quiet moment they shared on this gorgeous day.
A stunning venue in the English countryside, cloudless blue skies & a totally gorgeous couple. Hell yeah! Karina & Jamie have a deep connection & I wanted to capture that inner glow they both had just after the ceremony. I asked them to hold onto each other & take a moment to think about what getting married meant for them…. and this is what I saw.
The bride and groom has wanted a photograph in front of their wedding venue, Knowsley Hall in Cheshire, and rather than take this during the day I thought it would be better to wait until after sunset for a more dramatic shot. This was the last photograph I took at the wedding and also my favourite!
