Sixteenth Collection
This image was taken in St. Louis, MO at the St. Francis Xavier Church with friend and model Corrin Stellakis of Syracuse NY. I wanted to create an image that displayed the beauty of this dress (made by friend Kate Mitchem, who is also a photographer located in VA), and this church was the perfect backdrop for it! Corrin is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and it was a lot of fun creating this special portrait for her.
This picture was taken in Peru, on the way to one of the historical monuments in the country. The snowy ridge, planting on road laterals, the stage set looked like a picture I botaria on the wall of my room .. We had to resist this photo "called us." The couple was ready at all times for the photos and our style of photography is one where we left almost aimlessly and stopped where the spiritual plane warn us!
Anina & Sven celebrated their beautiful Swiss wedding in sunny Vallemaggia in Ticino. They asked their guests to write wishes on every balloon so they could send them off to the sky for good luck. Once I saw this moment was happening and that the clouds looked beautiful behind the church tower, I got on my knees to clean the background and filled the sky with the balloons, which certainly added a magical touch when capturing this moment. I loved how their family and friends cheered for them and how romantic and photogenic this rite was.
Alex & Charlie were a dream couple and up for any suggestion I had for images. The wedding was at Bordesley Park which offered so many locations for shots and we came away with loads of great portraits. Towards the end of the night the rain started and I knew I wanted to try a backlit image. I introduced some fairy lights to give some interest to the top of the frame, grabbed a bridesmaid to act as a human light stand and the rest is history.
Once you come across such a beautiful tree, you know that you have to do something with it! I instantly got some ideas to shoot later on the wedding day.
During their wedding party I wanted to place the bride and groom right before the tree and then light them from behind. I asked the newly weds if they had 3 minutes of their time. So we went outside and within 3 minutes we were back at the party with a amazing tree-shot!
It is a photograph of a wedding in a small town in Madrid. After the bride and groom do the dance we went outside and took this photograph. We combine artificial light that was in place with our flash to create this image. I like the simplicity that has, since the only elements that were used lanterns and grooms.
After shooting at several locations in San Francisco we headed down to the coast and the sky
and sun were in a perfect position. The Vanish & Ashnear hurried up the wall and stood in the perfect position and this was the end result to end the day.
This photo was taken really early in the morning (around 7.30 pm) on our way to the weddinglocaties. I always love driving and looking around me. When I saw these amazing sun rays, i pushed my hooter: stop! stop! We had to go here to take at least some pics. And the photo tells the story of love at early wedding hours.
As many times a picture that you don’t have prepared and you don’t expect the scenary was so complet.
Pre-wedding Blasi and Laura, Sant Llorenç de Montgai (Catalonia) train station.
One of the scenes that I like to cause using the backlight and get an excellent final result.
Now then... what a wedding this was. Set in the Yorkshire countryside, there was no shortage of photo opportunities. But whilst driving from the ceremony to the reception, I just couldn't help but pull over and grab some wheat field shots. The weather wasn't ideal with hazy clouds and midday sun but that just pushed me to be more creative. I focused more on including the ground rather than the murky sky to create this more interesting framing. They were a great couple to work with and lots of fun.
I saw the stunning sunset break through the clouds and scouted around the back of the venue to try and find a clearing to be able to get a portrait shot in the golden light. I stumbled across an amazing field and excitedly hurried back to see if the bride and groom (Natalie & Scott) would be up for crossing the muddy field with me. They were both totally on board, Natalie put on her 'wedding wellies' and we were off on an adventure hopping fences and puddles.... Legends.
They say you can tell an angel by her halo, but for Jeff, the vibrant angel wings that miraculously appeared during their creative engagement session at a park on the Tennessee River were a sign for him that his Sarah is an angel.
We had just finished with all of our 'after ceremony photos' and we were heading up to the cocktail hour to rejoin the guests. When we walked around the side of the building, the sunset light came flooding through the trees. The groom turned and kissed the bride, ever so sweetly, and I snapped a couple impromptu photos. Sometimes the accidental shots are the most beautiful.
This was taken at the lovely Eleven Eleven Winery. I saw this beautiful wood paneled corridor and instantly knew that this would make a romantic picture.
This couple shared my dream to do an incredible Loveshoot at the Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland near Dornie. As specialized Wedding Photographer, we only shoot weddings at old castles and mansions so we totally love this 13th-century castle. This photos was made nearly at midnight in June in the twilight. We parked the car near this great spot, and after some testing in the rain with the couple waiting in the car it went dry and we had about 5 minutes before the rain went back. Back in the car we discovered we forgot the close it, so we had a whole mosquito family the rest of the trip with us. But it was worth every mosquito bite ;).
Nina and Matt got married at the stunning St Ermin's in Westminster, London. One of the reasons they chose the hotel was because of its beautifully ornate rooms. They knew they wanted a photo on the sweeping staircase in the hotel lobby but I wanted to create something dramatic for them befitting of the opulence of the hotel. I would normally take a shot like this towards the end of the night but Nina was rushed into the hospital only a few days before the wedding for major surgery and, understandably it was looking like she might not have the energy to stay that late. So in the late afternoon as the guests were taking their seats for the wedding breakfast we took a little time out to create this shot. I exposed for the chandelier and the various lights in the lobby and used a video light to highlight the couple. Thankfully the couple is as delighted with the image as I am.
Once the vending guests had arrived, we decided to go off and take the bride and groom portraits. It didn’t take long to find these stunning corridors just out side of the venue. I knew that the orange and blue lights would make a perfect setting for a nice romantic moment.
This photograph shows a very beautiful couple. Dmitry and Elena dance their wedding dance. Location around symbolizes the fact that life not only consists of the holidays. The couple will be a lot of work, but in the future, the fortress will become really cozy and beautiful! After all, they are full of determination and energy! Dmitry and Elena dearly love each other, they will overcome all difficulties and fulfill their dreams!
I heard it long before I saw it. The infectious giggle of a little person carried across the field where I was shooting, I turned the corner to find this dude being propelled high into the sky, laughing and chattering as he sailed through the air.
My first wedding of this season had it all. A great wedding couple with great light during the wedding on April 1st, (April Fools day). The couple planned their wedding shoot early in the morning, which was really fine by me. Knowing this location very well, I knew I had to do something different. With the bright sun coming in, I first saw the shade coming up on the groom. Just a minute later this shot was taken.
The symmetrical steel structure and the yellow iron chain below symbolize the protection, love, they have as well as the hindrance they will encounter in life. The newly-weds are situated in the middle with posture of holding on to each other, showing as long as they have each other, all will be overcome. The overall image is presented by lighter color , to reveal a more positive intent of the story I mean to tell them.
We photographed this gorgeous couple’s wedding in March 2016. One of the venues they chose for their photo session in between the ceremony and reception was the University of WA. This is a popular choice for bridal party photography in Perth. It consists of beautiful old architecture as well as stunning gardens. This gorgeous tree is a popular meeting point for people on the grounds. The bride was keen to have some photos that showed lots of garden settings. So the tree was an obvious choice. The light was too harsh on the other side of the tree. But on this side, it filtered beautifully through the branches. so we stood them amongst the roots of the tree, surrounded by a carpet of ivy and captured this image - we love it, so do the couple, it is a feature image in their wedding album.
Here is where Anton took Lara’s hand and guided her across the old ruins of Sutro Baths in San Francisco. The ocean breeze caught her red dress and the sunset mirrored their reflection into the pool in front. The birds gracefully aligned into this frame and in the heartbeat of the shutter clicking, I understood that this moment was going to be timelessly captured.
De love story begins a couple years earlier when Sjoerd & Jessica meet at the grand central station in Amsterdam. The both were looking for love, but didn’t know, the would cross paths at a train-station. It was love at first sight. So when he asked and she said yes, the new that their pictures could ben taken in one place only and that would ben the grand central station Amsterdam. And that’s how it went. They sad, yes and we went tot de train station and did a beautiful photoshoot!
'When we walked trough the woods, I saw the broken trees and the green background!
I knew, when placing these lovely newlyweds, that this could be an awesome picture.
I love the lines and colors for this one! Thanks Wedisson for picking this out of all the many great pics!
This was the last photo taken on that day. When we arrived at the location, everyone was exhausted from a whole day of wedding events. As this was the most important day of their lives, I hoped to leave them with a perfect ending for this moment. Then came this photo. Of course, Candy and Tony loves the photo, and I believe that that is the best compliment to a photographer. Thank you guys!
Marisha and Chris were married on a beautiful day in small town Cabri Saskatchewan and we made the trip to a busy farmyard to get some shots of the wedding party! We had plans to go to a couple of different locations with the bride and groom but when the time got away from us, we started looking for options around the farm. When we came around to an open field in the back I couldn't help but take an image of them with the amazing sky as a focal point and them in the distance, it truly depicted the prairies for them and the sight they see often on the farm!
