Winning photos

A winterwedding with the nicest temperatures possible :) The moment the sun shows itselve behind the trees and the sound of silence in the forest.

In this place where architecture, colors and lines where all over the place i found the possibility to place the couple in line to create a beautiful silhouette with the existing backlight. The colors in the building do not distract the attention from the couple, as the couple is only shown as a dark outline. In a chaotic place with lots of distractions it still became a quiet photo, where your attention is guided to the couple naturally.

Sweet meetings at central station Rotterdam should be captured on that special wedding day.
Just add one flash and a lovely couple.

Such a very windy day at the beginning of September in Rotterdam. We started for a walking shoot and the bride and groom came down from the stairs. I did see the reflection and the wind in the veil and start shooting the hell out of it with this beautiful result.

68th Collection

A winter wedding with a beautiful sunset. A Dutch couple and a lovely castle on a day without wind.
I Love this landscape picture a lot!

66th Collection

This lovely couple married at the beach. We did a short shoot after their wedding ceremony. We climbed these blocks to make this beautiful picture with these awesome clouds. It was a steep climb for both so I loved the brave nature of the couple, otherwise, I could not make this lovely shot.

It was a very hot Dutch summer, which means when temperatures rise its most of the time quite hot and moisty. The Castle was warm as well and when the bride decided to open the window the wind came in to blow the veil away, the mirror did his own thing which made the scenery perfect for a shot like this.

"Come wander with my love". The couple wandering through the fields; the rain just stopped. Clouds above their heads. The wind stopped blowing and all we heard was the silence of fall.

52nd Collection

These three musketeers on the beach, hard light. The sun was really bride... we found a little wall of sand between the dunes and with the perfect blue sky it was like a fresh little fairytale :)

50th Collection

Just before the groom came in, she opened the window to check out where mister groom was outside at that moment...
the light on the painting was perfect. It was like the guy on the painting was watching what was happening at that moment... It took me just one click to make the magic happen! What a lovely bride!

As a kitesurfer, the beach is one of my favorite places to be. Today I had a bride and groom who kitesurf too. I captured this surf-couple on their spot in Holland. It was at the end of the day; the sea was nice and calm and the only company was little birds at the seaside. A very dreamy surrounding for o lovely romantic shot.

48th Collection

The first day of spring and lovely weather. The clouds disappeared and the veil of the bride was waving in the wind. As I love to capture landscapes with couples as the subject I made this lovely picture of this lovely bride and groom.

These guys love to kitesurf! And as I am a kitesurfer as well I asked them if it would be a nice idea to bring their kites to their wedding beach and so they did :) The colours are amazing and the love between them is so lovely to see! Happy to win an award with this one after a very busy season.

40th Collection

This couple was photographed in Rotterdam in Hotel New York. As the wallpapers are amazing with photography art i thought it would be a nice idea to integrate the couple into the surrounding in that room :)

in this zoo which was very crowdy we only had a split second to make the shot without passengers passing by.
one of the brides friends stopped the passengers for a sec on the other side while i was screaming to the persons who wanted to enter the hall to give me a few seconds to make this photo.

one flash with grid on their faces, one in de back on the ground and this was the happy result :)

In an oldskool factory, partly still in use, I wondered if something would happen if we did move one of the handles of the machine. The bride asked me not to say that in public that loud to her soon-to-be husband as he has his recalcitrant moments. He didn't hesitate and grabbed one of the handles. The face of the bride was priceless!

After all nothing happened :)

This lovely Grandpa wanted to get his grandsons to come to dinner, but the boys were teasing him one by one by stroking his just cutted hairdo. It had to slide on the floor under a table to catch this moment with my 16-35 mm as it was a really crowded reception, but with a really lovely result! <3

Hard wind, rainy day... I send the couple up on the top of a dune. They were holding their umbrella's against the wind, struggling with the storm and beautiful Dutch clouds behind 'm. And as i am a lover of landscape photo's I new this picture was going to be awesome. One of my favourites of that day!

30th Collection

The moment i saw the sun coming over the roof putting a beautiful lensflare just in the middle where the bride and groom where standing closely in this beautiful environment, i knew this would be an amazing shot with this early morning light, the sun at the right place and this beautiful couple.

I just had to play with the right position to catch the best flare. Moments like this make my job as weddingphotographer awesome! The adrenaline and joy i feel in such a situation trying to catch the best shot... Just love it!

This couple are typical Rotterdam citizens and wanted their wedding pictures a little industrial and city like on their weddingday in October.

We had to wait minutes and minutes untill the street was fully empty (it's a crowdy place in Rotterdam city with lots of traffic).

The Dutch photomuseum is also situated in this street and the banner of the museum is visible in red on the picture which i thought was a funny accent as the theme of this couple was red for their special day. The black banner says (it's in Dutch) "gives ideas some space" which i thought was a nice combination mentioning this photo ;)
