Forty-First Collection
The venue I shot this image at is well known for having the most incredible sunsets. Where possible I try to bring a sense of movement and fun to my images. Taking the bridal party for their portraits after speeches provided the perfect opportunity for this silhouetted image in the middle of the Cheshire countryside.
Leila & Micheal got married at the beautiful Shortmead House, in Biggleswade.
This shot was taken in the beautiful cottage in the Shortmead grounds, where Leilas mum was getting her maid of honour ready for her wedding day.
Joanne and Lee were great sports. It rained all day and when it did break it was about 1 hour before sunset so we quickly captured the couple portraits and then got my creative juices flowing when i saw a semi circle glass wall, I instantly thought blue gel, silhouette and bokeh. I also had a second idea with some fire flames I captured and intended for double exposure which I also won a Wedisson award for.
The bride was worried about the rain all day but I made sure to let her know no matter wha the weather was we would make these photos something special and be able to tell the story exactly as it is no questions asked! We dodged the rain all the way up until the couples portrait session towards the end but with a handy umbrella we were able to create this in the slightest of rain! IT was the perfect ending before we started partying on the dance floor!
Andrew and Jeniffer were such a lovely couple. This was my first time shooting at this venue and they wanted a photo in front of the building, typical thinking would of been a daytime looking shot but i decided to go for something a little more epic. I placed a Blue creative gel behind them pointing at the couple and a full CTO gel camera right to light them which in turn allowed me to bring down the in camera Kelvin to make the building more blue. Ambient exposure was darkened by 2-3 stops.
