Ten years later, with countless stories preserved, I can honestly say this work fulfills me like nothing else. Filming weddings and life stories isn’t just a job—it’s a privilege. What we create isn’t only for today, but for a lifetime. I especially enjoy blending retro aesthetics and glamorous style into my work, combining elegance and nostalgia to create films and photographs that feel timeless. My love of photography started when I was 5 years old (just a few years ago). My grandmother gave me my first camera so I learnt to take photographs on film. Today I still love photography as much as I did back then. Seeing opportunity and taking inspiration from many different sources I love creating images and seeing moments almost before they happen.

I spent three years living in Australia, where I explored and photographed some incredible places. This experience shaped the way I see light, composition, and natural moments. Since 2023, I’ve been based in Belgium, working as a wedding photographer. Hi, ik ben Juul! Een goedlachse spring-in-’t-veld met een hart voor fotografie — iets wat ik letterlijk met de papfles heb meegekregen, want mijn mama is ook fotografe. Waar ik vroeger vooral vóór de lens stond, kijk ik sinds 2018 liever erdoorheen. Wat begon met foto’s van vrienden en familie, groeide al snel uit tot opdrachten voor koppels, gezinnen, newborns en in 2022 zelfs mijn eerste huwelijk. Na een paar mooie jaren in bijberoep, besloot ik de sprong te wagen: vandaag ben ik met trots fulltime fotograaf. En dat voelt nog elke dag als de beste beslissing ooit.

Fourteen years. Seven hundred weddings. And the thing that still makes me genuinely excited about turning up to work is a message from a couple saying the photos made them fall in love all over again. Not a trophy. Not a feature. A text from someone saying they can't stop looking at their gallery. That's the whole job. I shoot 80% documentary, 20% Holy Shit. Most of my day I'm just in it with you, with your bridesmaids, your dad, whoever's doing something brilliant in the corner that nobody else has noticed. The real stuff happens when nobody's performing for a camera, so my job is to be the last person anyone's thinking about. Then there's the other 20%. One or two frames per wedding that couldn't have existed without me specifically being there, seeing what I saw, and deciding to make something out of it. Not posed. Built. Everything is true-to-colour. No trends, no filters, nothing that'll look dated in five years. Photos that look like your wedding actually looked, just on its absolute best day. I cap at 25 weddings a year because I care about doing it properly. Pricing is public, replies are fast, and if you want to chat before booking I'm always up for a coffee.
