Simon at One Marylebone Wedding in London, showing his guests how to open a bottle of champagne with a sabre, before elegantly pouring the wine onto a champagne tower.
This picture was meant to be. We waited for a couple of hours for the sunset until this magical moment happened. the light was perfect, the sky was dramatic and the couple in love, everything conspired and I'm glad that I was there to capture it.
Janina and Ranjid wanted to marry where they felt most comfortable, in the mountains. Janina wore a very beautiful wedding dress that her mother wore 30 years ago. Janina has made only minor changes. What was most important to both of them for their day was that their dogs could be there. The two Shar Peis also had a literally important role, because they brought the wedding rings. It was a beautiful day in the heart of the Alpine foothills.
Most of the time, we were shooting in places where the sun wasn't shining so brightly. But, when I came across the wall and noticed the symmetry of the two sides I knew instantly what was waiting for me. A combination of yin and yang which describes everything about love.
When driving up to this location (a huge parking lot without markings), I already saw this shot. Love it when couples allow me to take some non-traditional shots at their wedding. We waited until after sunset and then shot this from a ladder with a 16mm lens to enhance the effect of the shadows.
The fabulous Eli with Johnny (his grandad) at One Marylebone, London. Eli insisted in spending most of the wedding in his underpants.
My lovely wedding couple with a flare in each hand. I capture this very intimate moment of the two lovers. For me it was important to play with the colors in this picture!
Bianca and Pedro came to Mallorca from Brasil to live their Elopement in this beautiful city. As Good Brazilian people, dancing was in the air...
This photograph as it may not appear is a reflection of the bride and groom in the mirror. After seeing the beautiful mirror, I knew I had to make a couple photograph with it. I made this photograph just before they had to leave for their wedding. This is one of my favourite photograph from the entire wedding.
Love creates "Magic"!
This picture happens to be the closest to me and there's a good reason why. There are generally a lot of restrictions where I live in terms of where one can shoot and all the gear one can use. This location where I created this image was no different. I had just finished setting up the entire thing and was ready to click the shutter and do some "light painting" when I was approached by the cops asking me to leave the premises immediately. Now with "Light-painting", it's all about trial and error because one can't really see the pattern he's making. But still, after a lot of requesting and begging, the cops finally agreed to give me 5 minutes to make one image and they waited over to see what I was up to. I did the best I could in creating that one shot in those 5 minutes and the result shook the cops completely! They were so impressed, they allowed me a few more minutes and told me that at first, they thought I was crazy to be aimlessly waving a "tube-light" around leaving the camera behind... but the image finally got displayed on the camera and they exclaimed for never having witnessed such "magic" in their entire lifetime!! What a genuine compliment and gesture!
We were in the Agafay desert near Marrakech. I had already imagined this image before going there and when we were there, the bride and groom, the light and the landscape everything was present to give life to this image.
Simplicity at its best at the mesmerizing falls at Bhedaghat. It seemed like a perfect set-up at the gushing stream and a simple blue saree worn by Arushi. Sometimes it works the best when you don't have a plan & you 'go with the flow' in this image literally so!
As the wedding ceremony ended I saw these beautiful sun rays hiding behind the mountains. We had to rush with the couple to capture it. The look on their faces and the colors of the sunset made me fall in love with this moment.
The couple actually began their journey as classmates in University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. This is a very famous and architecturally astounding Law Library in their University, where the couple wanted to get at least one photograph. While the passages in the library weren't very well lit, they were architecturally beautiful nevertheless. So, when i saw this arch at one of the entrances of the library, an idea popped up in my mind. I hid a light stand behind the couple, mounted two speed lights on it and got the silhouette effect showing the beautiful arch!
This was a little too scary shot to capture, but Pin and Linda were brave enough and fearless to stand over there and wait for me to get this shot as I wanted. This was too high and if you look down from the other side, you might get panic. I told them to not look there and only look at each other's eyes or even close their eyes and enjoy the moment. I got the idea of capturing this shot as a silhouette before I ask them to get up there.
Elena and Kevin married in the beautiful Allgäu, also known as the Alpine foothills. They celebrate a beautiful boho wedding on an old farm converted to an event location. Her wedding was full of wonderful emotions and what impressed me deeply was the dancing excerpt of the bride and groom after the wedding ceremony. It was wonderful.
During the few minutes we had left, we found ourselves in a dark place. We had two options: either we move to somewhere else or create something out of nothing. So, I decided to challenge myself and voila.
I went for the blue light for this pre-wedding photoshoot because I sensed that it was the right mood.
I love nothing more than a sunset. I am stupidly lucky that my couples do too! My bride and groom gladly leapt into a golf buggy just after their first dance to race up to this location overlooking the Cheshire plains. I love to include lifts, spins and any kind of movement in my images, however we decided doing that on the edge of a cliff wasn't the greatest idea! I'm really thrilled we managed to capture the sunset though :-)
It was a great wedding with a delightful couple. In this picture the bride Alessia became dressed by two bridesmaids. It was a very poky room and the bright light from the window gave a good basis for a contrasty black and white picture. Thanks to Alessia and the adorable girls
