When I was taking this photo, my idea was to let the bride's dress melt and blend into the snow colored waves. So I turned around and said to the bride, "Come up, I'll take a good photo for you!" And without a single doubt in her mind, she climbed up onto the rock with me. When the waves hit to dampen her body, her reaction was to my surprise, she wasn't fearful or screaming, but instead gave me most perfect smile, allowing me to complete this photograph! I am very thankful for her trust in me, she is the best bride that I've met!

What a beautiful vintage wedding on the famous day, on May 15, 2015 Pim and Madelon got married. The whole day was epical and everything was just magical! I took this photo just after the ceremony, at the beautiful villa called Marialust in Apeldoorn.

We were done with the couple shoot of Charlston & Fomina and were headed back to their car to head to the reception, When i thought it would be great to try out a shot with the Audi in the background, using its lights and my flash triggered from behind. What we did not expect was the rear brae lights of the car to create these crazy colors on the trees behind the car, which formed such a beautiful colorful pic.
Turned out to be very magical as the couple shared an intimate moment.

We took this photograph in a village south of Spain, we were doing several tests and finally chose this because I felt that the time had enough strength, at the right time when the veil covered the face of the bride and also just pass a car at that moment. I think the photo without the car would lose interest.

We started in Rotterdam at the bride's home. She was wearing a beautiful costume made the dress. After their first moments with each other, we went to Amsterdam.
On a stunning bridge in the old city center, we started the photo shoot. Because of the nice weather I wasn’t the only one taking pictures. Lots of tourists made pictures of the couple as well.
Susanne en Roeland was getting married in an awesome church called the Posthoorn church. After the ceremony the couple walked out of the church, this was my moment. I took my wide-angle lens and took the shot.
This epic picture was the result. Susanne and Roeland thanks for an amazing day. It was an honor to be your photographer.

We love winery weddings & what I love above Serafino Wines in McLaren Vale is the bridal table in front of the big stack of wine barrels. Not only is it a great backdrop, it helps set the scene for a wedding in one of the best wine regions in Australia. How adorable is Sara & Josh kissing, as their bridal party look on? This photo was taken during a quick preview of the room before the guests arrived. It's always a good idea for the bride & groom to have a look at the reception before the guests arrive. As sometimes this is the only time they get to have a look at the room fully decorated for their own wedding. It will never look the same once the guests arrive.

We like to capture what we call a ‘kiss goodnight’ shot of our bride and groom during their reception. It usually serves as a perfect image to end their wedding album. This shot was in an unusual location. We noticed the hallway into the ladies bathroom at the reception venue had textured wallpaper and dim lighting - we knew it would be perfect for our shot. Although we got a couple of strange looks from some guests, capturing a sexy, intimate moment between our newlyweds outside the toilet, everyone was amazed at the end result. We used a couple of torch lights to give us enough light to create the image and our couple enjoyed their moment alone. We decided to finish this in a sepia tone, it matched perfectly with their classic, elegant outfits. Sometimes the most unusual locations make for amazing images - our couple loved this one, it’s a double page spread in their wedding album.

We found this amazing location just by a lucky chance. We had a two hours trip to make this shooting in Navarra, Spain, and before reaching our thought location, we saw the tree trunks and the snow surrounding it, and we just got astonished and went for the perfect shoot. The reflection of this amazing couple was captured with a little pool on the floor. I knelt down and tried to have a nice composition with the couple, their reflection, the tree trunks, the little tree and the sky.

We are very fortunate here in Charleston to live in and around some of the most beautiful and untouched natural habitats in the U.S. On this particular afternoon I climbed onto a boat with the bride-to-be and her future groom and we headed to an island off the coast of South Carolina that you can't reach by car, no roads, only waterways. The twenty minute boat ride out to Dewees Island was beautiful. There are only two or three full time residents on the island, and the rest of the houses belong to people who only visit a couple times of year, so it's a quiet, natural place, filled with wild birds, and deer, and alligators. The future bride spent a lot of her childhood vacationing here, so it is a very special place for her. We scouted around the island on a golf cart (because there are no cars) and happened upon a dense stand of pine trees along the dirt path, with a single great oak standing by the roadside. With the sun hidden behind heavy cloud cover, the remaining light framed the couple and the tree perfectly to set up this shot.

Tushar( Bridegroom) proposed to Amanda( Bride) at the same place which marked the onset of their fairly tale. I also had the privilege of shooting their wedding at Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. Now the love birds have relocated to Melbourne. I happened to be in Australia for an event and upon touching base with the couple, the idea of having this photo shoot was conceived. It was great fun shooting with Amanda and Tushar all over again.

Towards the end of the day when the sun was setting in beautiful Negril, Jamaica, the bride and groom and I headed down to the ocean near some cliffs to take some photos. The waves were violently crashing up against the cliffs surrounding a small cove and I decided to have the bride and groom stand on one cliff as I made my way to another cliff across from them to get the entire scene on camera. We waited a long time to get this shot, as I was perched on the very edge of the cliff to gain a different perspective and went through getting soaked a couple of times by waves before getting this image! I knew the second that I took this shot, it would be my favorite and it really is! It's everything about the warmth, beauty and excitement of being in Jamaica! Needless to say, I am soo lucky to have clients who were willing to literally put themselves on the edge of a cliff with waves crashing up on them on their wedding day. It was just such an amazing way to end the day.

This wedding was near Den Bosch, a city in the south of the Netherlands. Before the romantic ceremony at Castle Heeswijk Dinther, we took the wedding couple Elise en Vincent for a urbex wedding shot in the old factory (de Koekbouw) in Veghel. This old factory scene is an awesome location for shooting wedding and after I was upstairs the couple took a quick romantic look at each other and I shot this beautiful wedding photo just between the old steel constructions.

This was my first time in Costa Rica and it met all expectations and more. The bride and groom, Kortney & Chris, were walking hand in hand down the beach together. I love giving couples a breathing moment after the ceremony and before we start photos so that they can soak it all in. As I was walking behind them, changing my lens, I notice how perfect the whole scenery was and how that one tree and the open blue sky and water engulfed them. I dropped everything and began shooting. This set of images was the Bride's favourite of the whole bunch :)

This was a winter wedding with a later ceremony, any light we had disappeared long before. As we headed outside for portraits, I asked Anna & Mike to hang back in the doorway and chat for a couple of minutes while I took a few test shots. I saw this photo opportunity earlier and I wanted a few without the couple posing for me. I took around 6, the composition and stance of the couple made this one my favourite. I LOVE negative space, so I was always going to take this, although I never knew if it would be a hit or a miss.

This Sicilian sunset really inspired me to photograph during Jose & Mariella's wedding. We were in the car driving to the wedding reception and found this typical Sicilian building, which was the perfect location for documenting a romantic moment between my clients. Thus, we stopped, they bought a few beers (because it was during the very warm 2015 summer!) and took a few shots while enjoying the very colorful sunset rays. This was one of the most pleasurable weddings I've shot.

This picture was taken on September 25th, 2015, during the wedding of Mohammed & Shaza at “Mir Amin Palace”in Lebanon. Mir Amin Palace Hotel offers 19th-century splendor for a perfect wedding or time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. A courtyard with flowing fountains and plush landscape, overlooking the mountains and more than 20 villages. We waited for hours to get the specified daylight passing through the window, and once we found the best moment, we captured the bride fixing her dress in a very natural way. And this was the result, a black and white picture captured at the right moment and the right amazing place.

This picture was taken in Martinique (Caribbean sea). That day, the sea wasn’t very clear and even if the sun was there, there was not much light underwater. The only possibility was to achieve this pic near the water surface to have more light. I asked the bride to remain underwater during this time, i asked the groom to dive from a small fisherman boat to create depth to pic. Isn’t too easy for the Bride to stay underwater because the dress rises to the water surface.

This pic was taken this winter in the south of France. Water was very cold (around 12 °c). I asked to the couple if they were able to go to the sea. To create this notion of infinity between the sea, sun and sky, I had to put on a water my camera without the water touch my camera. So I put my arm under my camera to feel the water. For the little story, I also had to get into the cold water to the head…

This photo was taken at sunset during a quick break of the reception speeches. The New Zealand sun is really intense and even as it was setting this day the light was still super harsh, and I wasn’t very happy with what I shot. But fortunately as we were walking back to the venue I noticed this tree which helped diffuse the sun nicely and create this interesting backdrop..

This photo was taken at a recently converted train station, the Hedjaz Jordan Railway (HJR), an old railway system built under the Ottoman Empire which originally served trans-Jordan. It was one of the best and most memorable wedding shoots I’ve been a part of for many reasons. Not only was it the wedding of close friends, the blending of a historically significant site associated with Jordan’s Great Arab Revolt, with the wave of modernization currently spreading throughout Jordan, provided one of the best backdrops I have been privileged to work with and I believe this picture reflects an amalgamation of that past and future.

This couple loves Amsterdam as I do and while we walked to our next location to the canals I wanted to stop at this particular spot. It was quite busy and we had to move back and forth due to traffic and buses crossing the street. After I had set my camera ready I told them to move quickly to their spot so we can take the picture. What the bride-to-be loves most about this picture is that in the background you see the bank building her parents worked most of their lives and that her late father is in this way remembered in this special picture.

This beautiful window belongs to a small church in the Netherlands. Every time I saw this window I wished for a bride and groom to make the picture perfect. Finally, one day one of my lovely were getting married in this church. They loved to have a short shoot before the start of the church service. Mainly bride and groom are a little tense because of the officially moments. A little time for hugging, laughing and talking helps them to relax and enjoy their wonderful day.

The title of this artwork is "Lead Me". It is a Legacy portrait created just for Katie and Marshall Hargrave at their wedding in Woodhull, New York, to show what is so very unique to them...THEIR STORY!. I sometimes say that an image has so much story to tell that it is bursting off the page and this is certainly one of them. Grab your tissues and you will understand how God brought the bride Katie through a year of heartbreak and healing. Katie's first husband of nine months was tragically killed in an accident. It was during Katie's roughest year that God unexpectedly brought Marshall into her life to heal the wounds of loss. In this timeless image, Marshall's courage and strength are depicted in contrast to Katie's tender heart. The image was created for Katie to give to Marshall with these words, "I once took a thousand moments for granted because I was certain there would be a million more. But today ,with God's healing, I give my hand and heart to you to 'lead me' and I promise I will cherish every moment we have together." I feel honored to capture these stories and create lasting memories for clients like this.

The photo was taken in the Lake District, Cumbria at my favourite time of day, just as the sun was deciding to retire for the day. My Bride and Groom had mentioned to me a ‘beauty spot’ about 5 minutes away from their wedding venue, so we jumped in my car and took a little drive. The beauty spot is called Surprise View and looks out over Derwentwater, Keswick. I’d never been there before and needless to say, I was quite happy when we got up there. I wanted to show a sense of scale and remoteness in the image and have them framed in amongst the trees and set against the expanse of water.

The photo was taken at the end of the wedding. Their wedding was unfortunately moved indoors because of rain and she was disappointed that most of the earlier pictures had to be taken inside, to where I responded, "then let's grab an umbrella and go out! It doesn’t matter now if the dress gets dirty and wet” And we made beautiful art shortly after.

The location of this gorgeous affair is one of my favourites in Scotland, Errol Park Estates. There's a variety of backdrops there; from the beautiful sweeping drive to the authentic mansion house, the whole place is a throwback to another era. This photo was taken towards the end of our couple session. I always encourage my newlyweds to take a little stroll together on their own, it gives them a chance to revel in the moment and enjoy some time away from guests! While chatting and re-living the day, Sigrid and Juraj stepped into the light at just the right time, their eyes only for each other. The sun, the couple and the location were just perfect.

The inspiration for this photo was the couple’s wedding theme: Taking the Plunge. Little did they know, that would be a shockingly apt interpretation of their wedding weekend as Texas saw record rainfall that month. Their custom outdoor wedding site was completely washed away repeatedly, leaving the wedding professionals scurrying frantically until the very last minute to set up the 600-guest reception site. But that’s neither here nor there. Wesley and Keller wanted to do underwater portraits, and we excitedly obliged, as we love every opportunity to do something out of the ordinary and get creative. We shot this at the bride’s parents’ house in the Fort Worth area. Right on the lake, they have some breathtakingly beautiful property, complete with an outdoor pool. So we had the location. The bride ordered an inexpensive, second-hand dress, and the groom wore his old tux. Most underwater portraits are taken during the day with natural light, but we wanted to give our clients something unique and different. So we set up a series of strobes and shot at sunset and nighttime. Shaun majored in photography, so his extensive light training made this a quick and easy setup. It was the off-camera lighting that gives this image the ethereal quality it has — the glowing bubbles, the shadows cast on the bottom and sides of the pool, the contrast. We used the ewa-marine underwater bag for watertight protection, and Shaun dipped underwater with the couple to get the shots. We did need to coach the couple through breathing and keeping their faces relaxed, but the bride is a dancer and therefore needed to coaching whatsoever on body placement. That was all her! The couple used a series of underwater photographs for a custom, fold-out save-the-date, and we couldn’t be happier with how the finished product turned out!

St. Louis Union Station Hotel, which is a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, is one of my favorite places to photograph Couples, because of the gorgeous architecture and detail of the building. The St. louis Train Station opened on September 1st, 1894 as the largest – most beautiful terminal in the United states! However, in March of 1979, it was purchased for $5.5 million and reopened in August of 1985 as a Hotel. The reason I love photographing couples here is because of the Romanesque arches, barrel vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows. While photographing my Bride: Teddi Moorman, one of the Union Station employees happened to be walking by. I grabbed him and asked his permission to photograph him as our groom. He graciously agreed and the connection between Tom and Teddi was amazing!! You would never know they had just met! As apparent in this photo, there was more than just a “pose” going on!

Right after tying the knot, this fun-loving bride and groom jumped in their convertible Volkswagen oldtimer to hit the streets. I didn’t think twice when they invited me to ride along with them. As I was hanging off the back of the car, the groom kindly asked me if he should slow down for safety reasons, but I needed the speed in order for this shot to work exactly as I visualized, so I decided to ask him to drive a little faster. On this particularly hot summer day in June, a little breeze was very much appreciated so they rushed through the small streets just outside of Gouda to get to their refreshing wedding reception.

Ornella and Ignacio were married on the outskirts of Montevideo Uruguay, in a place called Villa Domus. At the beginning of the day, both were super happy and nervous about this great day. The bride smiles speak for itself. The church was the San José de la Montaña and Ignacio's uncle was the priest who blessed the ceremony. The photos of the couple were very easy to take, they did everything we asked them! They just do not stop looking to each other and laughing. I knew a great marriage was coming but did not know the madness that had the family. At the party, they did not stop jumping and dancing. It was incredible. It was a small wedding surrounded by the most important people. It is a pleasure to capturing moments of love like the wedding is. A wedding day is one of the most important days in our lives and everything should be perfect this day, but the only thing that we can’t arrange is the weather. This photo was taken at small but lovely wedding of Lubica and Ondrej in the small homestead Ujezd u Planice near Pilsen in the Czech Republic. I made this image as the Bride arrived at the ceremony, which was being held in a winery in Cornwall. It’s technically a very simple shot, on an 85mm lens, but sometimes simplicity is the best approach. What struck me was the calm, hopeful, serene look on her face as she looked on at some of the guests waiting on her arrival. She isn’t actually looking directly at me, but just past me, and this is a completely unposed moment; I was hiding in amongst the guests waiting for the car to pull up. The window light is soft and makes the Bride pop off the darker background and framing of the car. A simple, gentle moment amongst the hectic-ness of a wedding day.

Everybody was in the church and the groom was waiting for his bride. I quickly went outside and to this picture of her, waiting for her dad in the classic weddingcar.

Bernard and Mitja decide to do a photoshoot, on their special day a little different as usual. Mitja had planned this wedding adventure months before the big day and we decided to take shooting of bride and groom in Slovenian mountains very close to their home but none of us expected that on this special day will be raining like hell. Fog, rain and wind create this beloved atmosphere of a couple up high.

As Denis Waitley said: "a smile is a light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside.” With an early morning wedding ceremony, Roshni rose hours before dawn to prepare for her groom and we were there to capture the elaborate preparation. When Vipul began his day, there was just enough time to capture the prelude to their first look through his window three floors directly above his beautiful bride's. The light coming from their windows was the perfect illumination of the love and care they have for each other.

Andrej & Cecilie, two young Norwegian spouses, have chosen Tuscany for their big day! They celebrated their wedding in a medieval Castle with all their relatives and friends. In a romantic and intimate moment, one stolen shot.
Andrej & Cecilie perfectly inserted in the Tuscan countryside, everything perfect ... as their marriage!

"...You may kiss the bride...''
This photo was taken in Nevada, near Las Vegas. A driver with curious dog was driving by.... And the result was purely amazing!''The kiss'' captured at the right moment. Our day was filled with laugh and unique moments like this one.

This photo was taken during a destination wedding in Philadelphia Pennsylvania USA.
The ceremony and reception were held in this revitalized area of Philadelphia that was formerly very industrial. There were abandoned buildings, old relics of time past everywhere. We were photographing under a major road and a bridge and it was very dark Bc it was ab out to start raining. However, the light was squeaking through from above and just hitting this wall. Initially, the groom was just walking by the wall then his bride joined him and as I watched them pass this walk I saw all the horizontal lines and how they intersected her dress and their vertical bodies and thought it looked stunning. I was right.
