Twenty-Ninth Collection
Light, composition and a good subject are obviously the three main elements that make for a pleasing image. However, it's not always possible to control all three on all parts of a wedding day. When you get the opportunity to, something magical happens.
It was the end of Carolyn and Joseph's wedding ceremony at The Old Hall, Cambridgeshire. The register had been signed and all formal photos captured. I placed myself at the back of the room, ready to capture the happy couple walking down the aisle to the reception. I then noticed a sweet moment happening between them as they were congratulated on being officially husband and wife.
Danielle and Mike had their wedding ceremony in a church, and reception at a local venue, but decided to go offsite for photos. We went to the Tuckerton Seaport so capture images, and at the very end, though Danielle's feet were incredibly sore from her shoes I asked if she would mind climbing several stories to the top of the lighthouse, she agreed.
This lighthouse is different, as a floor or so below this shot is a much wider balcony that the entire bridal party was on. Originally I wanted Danielle and Mike together with the bridal party, but last minute I changed my mind and sent them to the top alone and left the bridal party to head to their original location. In this shot it is just Danielle and Mike, (shot with 70-200) but the next several shots had been done with a 35mm lens to capture the entire bridal party, lighthouse, and area surrounding. Camera in use for this: Nikon D5.
They call Mumbai city, a jungle of concrete and a city of dreams. Yet it's always a challenge to find scenic spots where u are not chased away by the local authorities to shoot at without prior permissions. This sunrise point by the sea side near the Gateway of India where sailing boats embark from is one of my favorites in the city and has historic significance too. To add to the drama u find sea gulls flying in a peculiar east west direction at sunrise. However the challenge is one can't control their movement to fill them in ur frame. The couple was v enthusiastic and agreed to hold pose while we waited for the sea gulls to fly in the direction of the frame. The magic moment happened when a passerby open a packet of an india savory made of gram flour called " gathiya" to feed them and suddenly they all flocked towards our frame.Patience and enthusiastic couples sure help seize magical moments. However I believe magic moments are seized when you as a photographer are at the right place at the right time in total oneness with the universe.
There are many wonderful things that make this wedding so memorable. Wonderful music, cheerful ambience, intimate people, pure love, and laughter, leaving a lot of sparkles in every heart. May Ivan & Metalia's marriage be as joyful as their wedding day.
I love the bride's reaction here. All adult guests were provided with a jar of vodka, and during the groom's speech a guest decided to drink the contents of his jar down in one. I could hear coughing and spluttering behind me as I was taking the shot so I assume it wasn't to his liking!
This was taken during the Best Man's speeches at Nava & Nick's wedding at Millbridge Court in Surrey. The Best Men have been friends with Nick since University and were recalling a tale where Nick had been out the night before rowing practice, was caught short on their rowing training session and thought the boat was as good as place as any to relieve himself!
Real love. When you meet a couple, you see it right away; they marry true love. These two enthusiastic people married in "Limburg". They really surprised me at their wedding! They chose the most beautiful places to take pictures and the ceremony was outside, while the sun was shining! To finish the day there was a nice BBQ and a party, but then the surprise came... the wedding couple had to go outside... and friends went for them to dance in a flashmob! The wedding couple was super happy and all the guests stuck sparkle fireworks in the sky! They sparkle! And the party continued until late hours...
Photo taken near Lake Brebeneskul. This is the highest mountain lake in Ukraine, it is at an altitude of 1801m above sea level! The crew together with the newlyweds made a difficult journey along the complex tourist route. We managed to take a few photos and the weather deteriorated. There was heavy rain and wind. The bridegroom Aleksander and Renata's bride spent the night in a tent with tourists to continue shooting the next day. It was an incredible adventure!
The last image of the night for Hardeep and Alex's amazing barn wedding. The moon and stars were out to play so I couldn't resist taking this image.
They call it the circle of love, this beautiful flower arrangement in a circle. Add a stunning bride and groom and an amazing venue and you have this picture.
When the sun is out you just have to use it. Sometimes it's about working with backlight, sometimes hard front light. It's in these conditions that it's easy to forget about keeping the couple in the moment, but the main never left these two.
Congratulation Matt & Sarah!
Because little girls dream...

Annalisa & David were extremely patient. I asked them to wait for me while I made my way to the top so that I can take this photo. They did have a very beautiful view to keep them occupied.
This photo was made in the historical center of Lviv. Sunset sun gently warms the newlyweds. Alexander and Renata are now really in love and happy! A beautiful view of the ancient buildings from the balcony complements the picture of this romantic evening.
Rachel and Charlie had an epic firework display and I knew I had to find a way to capture it in a cool way. With a slightly longer exposure and a bit of flash, I managed to capture this moment of them.
A kiss is a kiss, but with this couple I wanted a splendid kiss full of passion. And so they did and gave me this picture to shoot. Love it!
Rule number one for any confetti shot...
Get the crowd going.
Rule number two....
Get some confetti canons.
BANG!!!
Just a small part of an awesome wedding day with a great bunch of people.
Congratulations Stephanie & Paul
This engagement photo was captured in an avocado field. The trees were wrapped in twinkle lights. I used the lights to frame my subjects for an artistic shot. I'm always looking to give my clients an original piece of artwork, so I strive to shoot creatively with every camera click.
Calm on the outside, but nervous on the inside, this bride to be gazed outside at her stunning venue. Soon to put on the dress en meet her groom.
