A full time wedding photographer who uses a documentary style to capture beautiful moments. I love being around everyone on the day and especially love the opportunity to use my flash for some more dramatic shots not possible in natural light.
I'm also a successful magician so can add something unique to an already magical day!
Winning photos
Formal pose captured with just one large soft box placed in front and above the couple. I then took a 'plate' shot without the softbox and assistant to give me an unobstructed view of the background. I then created a composite in Photoshop to brush out the unwanted elements before fine tuning the final image.
118th CollectionI photographed my brother's wedding at Loch Venacher, Scotland. This capture utilised the fairy lights on the patio and a flash with light box to illuminate the couple.
117th CollectionA lovely moment alone for Alice & Jordan at Stanford Farm, Shropshire. 2 off camera flashes used to light inside and the couple in a row of wooden booths at night. Light control was especially hard with this image as I tried to make the booth look on its own.
116th CollectionTaken just after sunset at the lovely Oak Farm Hotel, Cannock. I wanted to exploit the oak trees in the rear garden. This was achieved by placing 2 x flashes behind the couple - 1 upwards into the trees, the 2nd with a CTO gel onto the trunk to create the silhouette.
113th CollectionThis image was captured in a very basic room so I asked the couple to sit at one of the cafe style tables as I set up my softbox. 2 shots were taken to create this piece, with an ambient light reduced to ensure there were no distractions in the shot.
We had joked about fighting as a newly married couple so an arm wrestling contest seemed a fun subject for the shot. The couple love the image and will be even more delighted to learn that they've played their part in obtaining this award.
Darcie & Matt at Rowton Castle.
A very small and narrow bar area meant using a very wide lens to capture this one up close. A composite as softbox was placed over both heads and blended together to achieve the final result. I love the mood in this image.
Rainy night in Wales but finally alone.
Shot with speedlights onto entrance, backlighting couple and a handheld main light above the couple that was later brushed out of the image.
Mirror Mirror on the wall, I just married the fairest one of all!
