I was coming back from a 4-weeks roadtrip through all the US, and my plane landed in the morning in Paris. I then took my car, parked at the airport, drove 5 hours to the summit of the Puy de Dôme, the highest volcano in Auvergne, to join Marion and Christophe for their trash the dress session. We planned this on the last day on which the train would take us back after the sunset from the summit to the carpark, so I had no choice for the date!
When we got up there, it was raining a little bit, but we took it easy and took some pictures when the sun was peaking through the clouds. We also had a picnic up there.
We were walking back to the train station when suddenly the whole sky became red. I looked at them and told them to run with me to the edge of a cliff. When we arrived there, the sun was setting, and peaked through the clouds one last time. It was red, and the rainy clouds and the rain created a sort of very soft gradient from the sky to the valleys. The light was amazing. We had a 2-minutes window to get as many pictures as we could with this light, and this one came up. I was very jetlagged but I enjoyed it so much I didn't care anymore!
Julie and Kevin tighted the knot in may. They are this kind of couple who are so much in love, the whole world could fall apart and they would not even realize it. When they look at each other, when they hold each other, you can feel the love.
On the day of the shooting, we walked around a lot to go to this magnificent lake. It's actually a real hard way to get there, especially with a wedding dress. There are briars everywhere and it's quite steep. But they agreed anyways, and were happy to get to the lake because they knew the place was amazing. We shot for a little bit more than an hour, and we catched the sunset. It was magical, and so peaceful. They were very happy to be here together, and I was very happy to photograph their love in that wonderful place, that felt just like Canada
