Twelfth Collection
That day was a storm day and the rain stop for few hours, we a running late but bisede all that allow us to do the prewedding. The bride was concerned about it but We told her that day should be a great day and the images were come out oursatanding. From the beginning they want Expectacular images and we made it for them. We made it. This picture were taked at Puerto Plata city a beautiful town at the north coast from my wonderful island Dominican Republic.
Set at their old college in Manhattan NY, this amazing couple wanted to go back to FIT where they first met. The transition in the photo shows how their paths came together as one.
Between beautiful ancient olive trees, ancient Roman ruins, the beauty of a breathtaking sunset, this has inspired the photo of this marriage in Squillace of Giusi and Antonio.
Thank you to the bridegrooms, in particular the bride that despite the dress, barefoot, she has succeeded to climb the stones; the award it is above all your.
The bride had told me since we met, that this moment was very important to them, and I could not miss!
This photo was taken at the exit of the bride and groom from the church. The military cortege goes down their swords and to continue the couple must kiss. Here the time!
It was a very nice winterday in the Netherlands when Sophie and Jan-Bart where about to get married. This was a couple from Amsterdam but they would meet at her parents house.
Early in the morning I went to the brides house to do some awesome make-up shots. It was a relaxed morning and Sophie was having a good time with her mother and close friends. Jan-Bart was staying at a hotel with his mates. My assistent was doing al the groom shots.
And then the doorbell rang. They where about to see each other for the first time. When she came down the stairs it was a magical moment. Because her father is a floriculturist and owned a few large greenhouses the bride and groom very much liked a picture in one of them.
Because of the nice colors and symmetry chose this spot. With a little external flash on the couple I toke the picture. It was an awesome day and a great couple and I hope they’re just as happy as I am with the result.
This photo was taken in a pine tree forest in San Jose de Ocoa, Dominican Republic. It was such a peaceful place that Katrina & Alejandro just connected with the sounds of nature, and forgot we were there. They just stared at each other while we captured their love. Alejandro then decided it was the perfect time to give her her anniversary gift (wich was the day after the shoot) so that moment turned into a strong memory they'll never forget.
Katrina & Alejandro: "This photoshoo was like having a date with our feelings, letting flow our inner self without saying a word. Talking with our eyes, feeling the touch of our skin, holding hands and walking confident of each other. It was an amazing experience to have you two as photographers, because you know what is real love, and you can feel it as intense as we do."
We had just finished our First Look photos with the bride and groom and were waiting for the ceremony. The bride was sitting in the shadows of the window and the groom was off in the distance and was holding the bride's bouquet. I loved how the shadows of the giant window was playing off both of them creating this silhouette. So I asked the groom to walk towards the bride and just do whatever came naturally – of course he kissed her. I did not expect him to place the flowers behind his back, but it made the image perfect!
This photo was taken during the bride’s bridal session. She was so nervous that the shot would turn out well but in the end, she trusted me. Then we couldn’t get the fog contained enough and the LED lights weren't powerful enough. Of course right? A little quick thinking and I placed a speed light behind her to make sure the fog was visible and the dress was outlined. This is one of the best shots I’ve ever taken. It’s crazy to think it almost didn’t happen.
Gotta love these spontaneous moments when shooting getting readies. I like to shoot them, especially when having a lot of time and you can play with angles, compositions and other things. I wasn´t able to tell this dog that walk here, but it still came like ordered. Excellent setup with beautiful bridesmaids and gorgeous bride, taken at bride´s parent´s home near the venue.
At the beginning of the wedding we all know that the couple will finish at the pool, but we don't know that all the people will finish there! Dancing and splashing like for an hour, probably the 28C at that night help a lot! The photo was taken when the couple decide to get out of the pool and have a towel, meanwhile they look at there friends doing crazy things!
It was a perfect winter wedding day of Kaisu and Teemu. I had the honour to be part of the bestman crew and also the official wedding photographer that day. We had discussed the possibility of a bad weather for outdoor portrait shoot with the bride and she was worried if we should do it at all. So we were in the wedding car and cruising around the reception venue which was basically looking like a mystical medieval forest with a bit of snow here and there perfected by a majestetic mist all around. I got a vision of the newlyweds kissing in in the forest surrounded by nature. The atmosphere of love completed the shot we all were looking for!
Anisha had a beautiful and colorful Indian wedding in Raipur. I wanted to capture her personality and the colors and energy of the place so I asked her to dance in rounds and have fun. This photo was captured from the 1st floor of her beautiful house, before going to the first celebration of the week.
Erica and Wayne got married at the amazingly beautiful Lake Tarawera in New Zealand. Instead of driving to ceremony Erica and her bridesmaids took the scenic route and traded a wedding car for a wedding boat. Sipping champagne on the roof of a vintage launch on such a beautiful day, the girls really arrived to the wedding ceremony in style.
The story behind this picture is actually quite simple. The couple wanted to take pictures in an epic place, so we went up a volcano in Center France. It was the last day of August and we planned this session for a very long time. I just came back from a 4-weeks trip in the United States and I still had my suitcase in the trunk of my car, yet we climbed up the volcano, had a very nice picnic tohgether and took pictures. For this one, I really liked the color of the grass. The sun was setting and the landscape was being more and more yellow, so I asked them to stand still while I took this pictures of them!
I shot this photo near Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, India. It is a very well know spot for the locals. We were there from early evening, getting a few shots and finally when the sun went down, I set everything up to get this shot that I always wanted to make! The lovely couple, Nivi & Sriram had to hold still for a few seconds, which they did with ease!
Melissa is an incredible photographer, she think about Iceland to make her wedding unique. We though about the special image for a long time and finally decided to do the session in this little place, very close to Skogafoss, we look for something special about iceland and found these amazing basalt columns. Be there standing up was veeeery difficult so we decided to do it this way... a liitle bit of composition, a bright sun, and two spoons of love. Thats the recipe for this photo. ;)
This picture was taken during a beautiful international summer wedding at Daelenbroeck Castle in Herten (Limburg).
The green bicycle we borrowed from the cook of the hotel. Bride is had a beautiful smile she showed all day.I had lots of fun with this spontaneous happy Dutch couple.
People from Vancouver will understand the amount of rain we get is ridiculous! So we are lucky to have a little cloudy break in the afternoon to come to the University of British Columbia, where the couple went to school. They stood in the middle of the rose garden, snap! A beautiful combination of the over casting clouds, mountain and ocean views, a little bit of blooming roses and of course the lovely couple!
Brendon & Yvonne celebrated their wedding in 3 days in Toscany Italy. This picture was taken on the 3rd day, we did some wine tasting and had a really nice dinner in the Chianti valley. I took this picture at the and of the day, camera and flash on tripod and a long shutterspeed. I wrote the word love with sparkles, becouse Brendon & Yvonne are really really really in love.
The weather is hot, were at the lowest point but still worthy, specially after hearing from the bride that they had one of the best unexpected experience ever. These two had enough passion and courage to get dressed for a shooting session before their big day.
This picture was taken at the wedding of René en Rianneke who got married early 2015. They had such a great time and enjoyed every minute of their wedding day (how it should be : ) We just finished the portrait session and walked back to the wedding venue as I noticed the reflection in the mirror of the bridge. I ran forward and told René and Rianneke to keep walking and enjoy each other. A quick look at each other and there it is.
There's nothing like capturing a natural, peaceful smile, and the beautiful Dasha (@dashahad) was smiling with grace while she was waiting to get out of the car and meet her handsome groom. It was a wonderful moment to capture... :)
This photograph was captured in the village in Portugal. We took advantage of the last rays of light to create that romantic atmosphere that enveloped them.
Sofia and Ricardo, our Bride and Groom, chose the amazing Arrábida beaches for their Trash the Dress photoshoot. So, for this image, they got the difficult part: to swim under water with their wedding clothes and to appear beautiful, relaxed and free. I got the other part: to climb a 3-meter rock to shoot them from!
It was a lot of fun and a great moment for all of us and for a small group of people watching us from the sand. So we have three stars here: Sofia, Ricardo and the spectacular Portuguese ocean.
The third night of our 5-days-hike the Ottertrail in South-Africa was such an amazing place. With waves unto more than ten meters high, incredible! I was thinking: i need a couple to photograph! So I asked some of the other hikers from Australia and they were ‘in’. A twenty-minutes-shoot was full of love, laugh and fun!
We were almost to the end of our photoshoot with Sheldon and Justina, when, they pulled out their wish lantern and wanted to get a few shots of them releasing it into the evening sky. I had never shot anyone with a wish lantern before, so me it was completely new.
As soon as their lantern was almost ready to release I asked the couple to gently lean in for a kiss under the lantern, and whoa, that's the result I got was amazing, the background sky looked just like a painting to me and created such a romantic moment for the two of them, with the play of the light and shadow.
Molà del Duc; an old flour mill transformed into an opened site for celebrations. It is the place where this young couple , Jordi and Raquel, decide to unite their lives . A brilliant result for a couple that shines.
Anne and Adrianne's wedding gave an awesome reason to travel from the Netherlands to the USA. Their wedding was my first destination wedding. The groom (Dutch) and bride (American) had their gorgeous wedding in the Oaks Likeside Restaurant in Ohio. This image was shot at a beautiful spot, a very romantic site along the beach of Chippewa Lake. The wedding day itself was full of love and happiness. In the evening I asked the couple outside for a very short shoot (5 minutes or so). In the dark I love to use my flashes off camera. When I asked them to hug, the flash lightend up the enormous beautiful trees. This picture is absolutely one of my favourite!
Justyna and Michael contacted me in November 2015 to cover there Wedding in Mauritius in February 2016. They are from Poland.
The package was to cover the Civil Wedding ceremony and do a photoshoot afterwards. I only met with the couple on the day of the Wedding. When I saw Justyna walking to her Husband, I thought that she must be a model. She had this rolling movement when walking, typical of a model. She revealed to me that she was a dancer and a cheerleader.
After the Wedding ceremony, we proceeded for the photoshoot on the beach. She had such aesthetic in each pose that all shots were a delight.
She had a beautiful Wedding dress open on the front which revealed her beautiful and sporty legs and had a long tail.
I decided to make her jump and asked her husband to hold the tail of the dress.
Justyna did a few beautiful leaps and I caught this shot. Converted it in Black and White to add impact and reveal the frills of her dress
Have you ever found the one you've dreamed of all your life? Felycia and Mark found the one. And nothing will stop their love for each other. Not even the cars that drive by in front of them. While the cars in Downtown Atlanta are only there for a point in time, they create the perfect frame for the moment of the kiss and their love story. So it is our job as wedding photographers and artists to capture these perfect moments.
