It’s an incredible honor that nearly 150 couples have trusted me to capture their wedding day. If you're looking for a photographer who loves real, spontaneous moments, I might just be the one for you. One of the best compliments I’ve received: "We barely noticed you were there!" I hope to keep working with many more couples in the future, providing them with tangible memories of one of the most special days in their lives. I’ve been fascinated by photography for as long as I can remember. After finishing high school in 2001, I went on to study at the Fotoacademie, located on the beautiful Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. Back then, I was shooting with my (analog) Minolta 7000, constantly chasing beautiful images — and when I wasn’t out shooting, you could find me in the darkroom developing and printing my own film. I also had a side job at Cameraland (then called Foto Kiekie) in Alkmaar, where I learned image editing with Photoshop and how to operate and maintain lab equipment. After the Minolta 7000, I switched to the Nikon F90 — an absolute top camera, although it doesn’t really fit in this digital age anymore. When digital photography took off, I went in search of a new favorite (digital) camera. I started my professional career with the Canon 5D Mark II. The switch to Canon was mainly practical — most of my photography colleagues were already using Canon, making it easier to share gear. For 7 years (starting in 2017), that workhorse helped me grow into a better photographer. Now, another shift is happening in the world of digital photography. DSLRs with flip-up mirrors are old news; mirrorless cameras are the standard. My new beauty — the Canon R5 Mark II — is ready to take over, and I hope it will serve me just as well as its predecessors, who are now happily retired and resting in my display case. Shall we grab a coffee sometime? Cheers, Evelien
