Morgan and Jacob were married at this great little venue right outside of Savannah, Georgia. A great country setting, complete with a ceremony site over under a great oak, over looking the pond. There is also this fantastic fountain in the courtyard, where the water runs from a water pump fountain head and there is a flame that comes up from the center of the fountain. I managed to catch a sweet kiss from across that fountain.

Caught the last bit of light, coming through the oak trees as the bride and groom were exiting the church. Grabbed this shot as we were fixing her veil for her to walk and the wind picked it up.

A late evening shot from Andy and Amber’s wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. As many weddings do, we were running a bit behind and running out of light, this was one of the last shots we got in before it was too dark to use natural light.

One of my favorite captures from Robert and Lisa’s engagement session at one of our historical plantations right here in Charleston. These two hold a special place in my heart since the groom is my brother and only sibling. The late fall light is always so beautiful here.

Funny thing about this photo,I have to give credit to one of the groomsmen for helping me with the set up.My flash bracket snapped when I was setting up for the shot, so I had my willing helper hide in the background and point the flash up at Ingrid and Eric.The angle of the flash was abnormal, but perfect for the scene.Catching a peek of the sunset over the harbor and Charleston's Historic Rice Mill as the backdrop, this couples nighttime silhouette shot is one of my favorites.

Patti and Bobby got married at the beautiful St. Lukes, in downtown Charleston.This image was captured right after their ceremony in the courtyard of the church. The suns rays were filtering through the leaves of the giant oak trees, framing the couple for this portrait.

We had just finished with all of our 'after ceremony photos' and we were heading up to the cocktail hour to rejoin the guests. When we walked around the side of the building, the sunset light came flooding through the trees. The groom turned and kissed the bride, ever so sweetly, and I snapped a couple impromptu photos. Sometimes the accidental shots are the most beautiful.

This was one of the last photos we captured on our trip out to Dewees Island. This incredible boardwalk leads out to a completely private, natural beach. Old rotten boards had just been replaced with brand new planks, giving us a great pattern leading up to Caroline and Dustin standing in the opening of the tree tunnel.

We spent a little while taking photos around Downtown Charleston, and then headed out to the beach to catch the sunset.There is a point down towards the lighthouse where the beach meets the marsh and the sunsets are always some brilliant shade of purple.This particular night we got lucky with a great cotton candy sky and a rising tide around the rocks. Perfection.

We were going for a shot that would capture his undying devotion to her, and managed to capture this sweet moment walking down the beach.

We are very fortunate here in Charleston to live in and around some of the most beautiful and untouched natural habitats in the U.S. On this particular afternoon I climbed onto a boat with the bride-to-be and her future groom and we headed to an island off the coast of South Carolina that you can't reach by car, no roads, only waterways. The twenty minute boat ride out to Dewees Island was beautiful. There are only two or three full time residents on the island, and the rest of the houses belong to people who only visit a couple times of year, so it's a quiet, natural place, filled with wild birds, and deer, and alligators. The future bride spent a lot of her childhood vacationing here, so it is a very special place for her. We scouted around the island on a golf cart (because there are no cars) and happened upon a dense stand of pine trees along the dirt path, with a single great oak standing by the roadside. With the sun hidden behind heavy cloud cover, the remaining light framed the couple and the tree perfectly to set up this shot.
