My brides never want to throw their bouquets, so when Natalina told me she was going to throw hers, I was super excited! These things always happen really quickly and it was one of those times where everything just lined up perfectly, the light on her face, a great facial expression, a strong throw... An awesome result!

Ellie and Mat married just before Christmas and we knew the weather would be unpredictable... Shortly after the ceremony the rain came and just kept on coming, so we had to resort to doing their portraits inside. The couple had chosen a festive wedding because the loved the warm and cosy feel of the season so while I was sat in this empty dining room having my dinner, I decided to light the candles and set this shot up. Ellie and Mat were happy to nip out after pudding to shoot this before the speeches and I think it captures the drama and romance of their venue as well as all the things they loved about the time of year.

Hannah and Dan's guests were partying hard and I felt pretty guilty dragging them away from the dance floor, but the little tree all lit up with fairy lights at Highgate House in Northamptonshire is lovely and combined with the gorgeous last light in the sky, I was desperate to shoot through the lights to grab a back lit portrait. Hannah's cousin held the flash for me - I think he thought I was a little crazy - and it didn't take long to catch this shot and they were able to head back to the dance floor to carry on partying. A moment of calm in a crazy night!

Nick and Rob moved to London together having met at university in Sheffield, so felt that marrying in the city was really important to them. They also wanted to maximise the time they had celebrating with their friends so chose to do their portraits in the morning before the ceremony. We headed out on the tube to Saint Pauls and walked over Millennium Bridge to embrace some of the iconic skylines... This is one of my favourite shots from the day, you can just make out the cathedral in the background, but there's so much more story in here; I love the film crew filming them and the passers-by stopping to see what's going on.
