Mark Coombes Photography offers authentic and artistic wedding photography for couples who want their day captured in a natural, relaxed and storytelling style. Born and raised in West Cork, Mark brings over a decade of professional experience and a deep connection to the Irish landscape, people and light that shape his work.Mark discovered a love for visual storytelling that now defines his approach to wedding photography. His background in photographing landscapes, sport and travel has shaped a style that is emotive, observational and rich in atmosphere.

At the heart of Mark’s work is a genuine love for people and their stories. Each wedding is approached as a unique narrative, revealed through pre-wedding meetings, personal connections, and the way couples interact with their families and friends on the day. He works in an unobtrusive and relaxed manner, allowing real moments to unfold naturally, capturing true smiles, laughter and emotion as they happen.

Couples are encouraged to fully enjoy their day, to be present with their guests, while Mark quietly documents the moments that matter most. The result is a beautiful, honest collection of images that reflect not only how your wedding looked, but how it truly felt.

With his work internationally awarded and featured in numerous wedding magazines and publications, Mark Coombes Photography is a trusted choice for couples seeking timeless, story-driven wedding photography across Cork and throughout Ireland.

Winning photos

As the sun lowered in the sky I noticed one open area in the vegetation where I asked my couple to stand in profile as I wanted to Silhouette them in the back lit sunshine. I closed down the aperature to get a sunstar effect from the sun, I also ensured that I didn't underexposure the scene too much as I wanted the red wild flowers in the final image not to be totally silhouetted.

132nd Collection

This couple were great fun and very sporty and active, so i asked them to run along the tree line by the shore. I asked the groom to run slightly ahead of the bride as I was shooting sideways on and wanted to see both bride and groom in the photo. I used a wide angle lens to give the impression the trees were larger and more dominant than they are in 'real life' and careful to get the image while they were running in a small clearing between the trees.

132nd Collection

The couple were walking through this amazing field of wild daisies, so i placed an off camera light on the couple and got really low to the ground and shot through the daisies to give the feeling the couple are lost in a sea of daisies. Used a wide angle lens which makes the small daisies appear as large as the couple.

132nd Collection

At a beautiful marquee ceremony in a rural setting, the couple went for a short walk after the ceremony. A lovely moment as the couple enjoyed a moment to themselves before re-joining the party

131st Collection

A wild day on coastline and a gust of wind whipped up from camera left as i walked closer to the couple to get some close up shots and the veil created a diagonal line similar to couples height angle and I got 2 frames before the veil disappeared from the frame, this one was my favourite.
