Love is a feeling too difficult to define. When it’s true, it is one of the most powerful things in the world. It seemed only fitting that we portrayed this at one the most powerful decors of the earth. We took it at Skogafoss in Iceland on a very cold, but beautifully sunny morning. I love how the colors of her jacket, the waterfall and the snow comes back into the rainbow we had due to the mist of the waterfall.
Like a dream within a dream, it was a scintillating experience to orchestrate this silhouette shot of the lovely couple Karthik & Shravya, with Sony A7 II. It is always intriguing when we place art on the center stage and take time to bring out the best of the moment. We were at the ITC Grand Chola. Surpassing the normal spots, I found a passageway to a cellar/bar that had all the ingredients for a dramatic image—symmetric, lit arches, patterned walls and a mysterious glass door with patterns at the far end. I could have settled for a “well-lit” image with the couple properly exposed—but that wasn’t my vision. I wanted to make a breathtaking image that highlighted the beauty of the walls, the lights and the arches, and the interesting door—besides drawing interest to the couple. With a single speed light and lots of excitement, I tried this shot. I wanted to bring out the mystic feel of love. It did come out well in the end.
In southern Spain, they are a very hot day, so the couple decided to marry late in the afternoon This photo was taken at dusk in an abandoned house near the celebration. The sun coming through the window creating this beautiful atmosphere of warmth and tranquility while… I like natural light only have so much charm this photo.
I travelled up to Scotland for Lucy and Dougie’s wedding and this shot was taken around the impressive Linlithgow Loch. All the elements just seemed to align when I pressed the shutter - the clouds, the bird in the centre of the frame, the light and, most importantly, the couple! Such an amazing location with a pretty awesome couple - I’m glad this shot does it all justice!
I took this image at Clemence and Nicolas’s wedding. It was the second time I came to this venue and had noticed the 1st time this big room in the chateau, with these orange lights on the ceiling. At night, I ask the couple to come with me to make an indoor night picture. I exposed for the highlights, flashed the couple with 2 strobes and use my phone to create the reflection of the ceiling. And that’s it ! 2 minutes later they were back with their friends and family in the diner’s room. This represents the kind on image I really like to make : playing with the available lights to create something that looks unreal and magical.
I had a chance to shoot this wedding at Lugano & Locarno, Switzerland near Italian border with a local renowned photographer. While she took the forefront, I was comfortable shooting from a distance. This magic moment happened just after the wedding when the couple was proceeding for their reception party. Love and happiness floated in the air as the happy crowd and blessed couple let the colorful balloons uplift in the vast sky. The perfect upbeat frame was shot from afar.
Emma & Nico had a beautiful wedding in Switzerland. The sunset that day amazing and painted the scenery in a unique way. I was inspired by the beauty of this Golf course, surrounded by beautiful pines and trees and the very characteristic colors from this beautiful country. We had lots of fun during this 30 minute portrait session during their wedding day and the sun helped us create some incredible imagery!
Brooklyn can prove a challenging locale when shooting a wedding. There's plenty of rust and graffiti on its old structures. But when the light hits just right, those elements come alive with classic beauty. The city looks young again, and the search for a timeless capture is rewarded.
Aloysia and Jason wanted a Derbyshire engagement shoot and where better than the Peak District. Curbar Edge is simply beautiful, even in the rain! Yes, as it normally does in Derbyshire, it rained. None the less, this didn’t stop Aloysia or Jason, their warmth, love and character shone through. As I drove to Curbar Edge, I was a little worried it would be a waste of a journey and that the rain would win…. However, what I didn’t mention is that Aloysia is my cousin. We have known each other for 34 years (there are only a few weeks between us) and I know her, as well as she knows me. We are both very competitive and won't accepts ‘no’. So, a little bit of rain was never going to stop neither of us. Aloysia and Jason are having a tipi wedding in the middle of July – let's hope for better weather. It's going to be an awesome event with award winning chef’s, cooking continuously throughout the day….! and if you didn’t know, I love food. Thanks for being ace guys – I CANNOT wait until the big day! You guys ROCK!
A beautiful couple, Sanna and Daniel, celebrated their wedding in the lovely Small Palace in Tampere, Finland. The wedding day was beautiful and the guests spent time in the garden as well. I took a picture of a little girl and her father going down the stairs into the garden. I fell in love with the picture, and suggested we take a similar picture with the newlyweds. They were excited and that is how this picture came to life.
